101 Uses For A Pot/Bucket

I don't have immediate access to New Vegas right now, so I have no idea if this works for other items that you'll normally lose karma for (books, crafting components, etc), can someone give it a try?

I don't think this affects the karma, it just lets you steal things without people attacking and becoming hostile. I've heard you can steal from most shops just with a stealth boy + crouching anyway.

The impression I got from the video was that by placing the items in the bucket and collecting them out of sight, this method bypasses the 'stolen item = negative karma" event and allows you to retain a Good Karma rating while getting what items you want.

i'm surprised it doesn't mean negative karma. i steal stuff out of sight all the time and get negative karma, but i guess it could be different for things that are tagged so if stolen in sight the owners become aggressive.

one thing i accidentally stumbled across in silver rush was one time i stole that really expensive weapon and immediately went into pip-boy, and they didn't notice. when i tried it again only gloria noticed.

Even when playing my "good" character I find it hard to resist the urge to steal everything that's not nailed down. Would be much, much poorer if I did. :P

1. Use stealth-boy
2. Engage sneak
3. Steal everything (same karma outcome)
5. ???
6. Profit!!!

Also, skitzor, silver rush lets you get off with stealing one thing and one thing only, after that it's "melt you down into goo" hostility.

If you're good at picking pockets the paladin at the BoS safe house has 10k caps on him.
