I've been pretty lucky over the years having driven client/friends cars,,
Most expensive was a Continental S2 (owner was drunk and didn't want to leave his car is the city understandably, his words were something to the effect of "it's $6mil worth of humiliation if you crash it" followed by "why are we going so slow?")
A few I can remember - Porsche 959 (which I was in when a truck decided to run it's wheel-nuts up the side of the car), Gallardo,Porsche GT2, GT3 & Cayenne Turbo, handful of Skylines & a nice Sileighty, few HSV's (nothing outstanding), Lotus Exige & Elise, Lancer Evo II, III, V, VI, VII & IX, Aston Vantage, Caterham/7, Aero 8, Cerbera,
Definitely two of my favourites though, the Lotus Carlton (INSANE) & Lancia Delta Integrale Evo (only short drive and not sure if evo I or II).
Lotus Carlton is just scary good. So scary good.
The only chance I ever had to drive a Mustang ended with me in tears (almost) the clutch was so heavy I couldn't push it down to engage gears...
A friend of mine that used to fly in the RAAF told me at the Clipsal this year about a guy that owns the only F40LM never to be raced. Turns out he's here in Adelaide. And turns out I already know him. And that I see him every Friday when I pick up my girlfriend from work.
So for my first Ferrari drive, I'm looking to soften him up and beg & plead. I don't like my chances, Daryl tells me he sat in it just the once and 'it was just beautiful.' (Daryl himself on the other hand sold his 355 before I met him which I sometimes cry about. He also wants to get back into racing, with a GT40 to run in the Classic Tourers(?) category.)
