What would you like to see in BF3?

DICE: The PC Version of Battlefield 3 Will not be 'Consolized'

In light of the news that more attention will go into the PC version of BF3, what would you like to see in the game?

For me, I'd like...

64-player maps
Jets, choppers, boats, jeeps, tanks, other stuff that goes boom
Large arrangement of weapons that are customizable
Ability to go prone
Music in choppers (never going to happen :()
A new kit, sort of like an assassination kit, throwing knives for kicking **** close range but the down fall is your primary weapon doesn't have a long range, give the kit a good amount of different traps, bombs etc.

That's all I can think of at the moment. :P

I wouldn't mind seeing Jets again, but the Anti-air needs to be such so you can actually shoot em down (if the pilot sucks).

A large array of vehicles really makes for a great BF experience.

The idea of assassination kit just doesn't seem right given the context of the BF series. Something a little more realistic maybe like a signaller class, who can call in all sorts of air strikes, coordinate attks, relay enemy positions to team etc.

Other things I've thought of is:

They need to bring back specific requirements to get pins, ranks etc. It adds a real sense of achievement when you get it. i.e. the old college war badge and gold pins. Really exciting when I got mine, pre nerf.

Definately needs destruction, can not play another FPS without it.

The BC2 game modes are awesome, hope they use something similar.

I really dug the commander, need to bring that back in some way.

hoping it has prone but also retains bc2 'heavy' soldiers rather than swiss ballet **** in camo ala bf2

64-player maps where only seemed spammy because there where so many vehicles, it's just all out war. I believe BF3 should support 64-player maps because that's what Battlefield has always been about, big maps, lots of players.

Considering the current AA in-game, I'd say jets would have a bit of trouble in the sky, but yes the AA needs to be just right. Throw in a laser designator with the pistols as an option and give the jets some hellfire missiles, laser designating hellfire missiles would be fun. :mrgreen:

More than BC2 would be good but there's still a lot in BC2, add in silences I reckon.

You may be right there, it would probably create hit box problems.

Yeah in BF Vietnam they have music in the choppers, so much fun flying around the jungle maps with the music blaring. But they'll never add that to BF3, just wishful thinking. :P

Yeah that's very true, it wouldn't suit the game. Now that I think about it maybe just make the kits already there a little more flexible, some more customizations that are different to the normal kit items would be good.

They have specific requirements for medals, pins etc. I also like the way the gold star works now, you can tell how much experience someone has with a weapon and if they have a platinum star you know they're good with that weapon.

For sure! If they didn't add destruction it would be a huge back step.

The BC2 game modes are awesome, hope they use something similar.

Oh yes! A good Commander was a very good asset to have in BF2, I agree it needs to be brought back, the amount of times a Supply crate would have come in handy.

How crazy would that be! Destructible Karkand would be insane, it would probably get a little boring quickly though because it has still been played so much. A map like Karkand with more rooftops you can get on, a big rooftop battle would be intense! :lol:

Better hit detection than BF2.

Must have prone.(Hate how games of late have been to lazy to implement it. If people can't see you...well duh that's the idea.)

64p maps are awesome.

Customizable weapons (But not like BC2 with magnum ammo and ****, more like scopes and supressors and such).

Remove all the unnecessary glare and dust than were thrown into BC2 or at least reduce it ALOT.

Not fussed on building destruction as it turns into a noobtube and rocketfest with people try to luck out and get kills by blowing up random walls.

And I am over the old maps, new game = new maps (and a good amount of maps at release not rehashed maps available in different game modes.)

Great topic

Definitely better hit detection as it is giving me the absolute <expletive> at the moment (I read they are working on a patch to bring in the MoH hit detection somewhere in to BC2).

I enjoyed 64 player maps as they were usually wide as well which meant you could flank the other team a lot easier although I personally would like to see more of the Special Forces expansion type maps (played on them mostly near the end) and the return of the mighty grappling hook and zip line.

Please do not bring prone back I beg of you! I think BC2 has proved it is not needed.

Definitely lots of weapon customisation I love that stuff.

Vehicles make the BF game different although I do not use them much myself just as long they do not come to dominate the game like jets did in BF2 (as others have mentioned balance is the key).

I would like to see the squad leader come back as the spawn point. Being able to spawn on anyone is ok but I like the little bit of an edge having one spawn point to protect brought (6 person squads back as well thanks). Commander is good as well but I would not be upset if it was not there as it could be a thankless task if someone took a disliking to you (because you were supplying the squad capping flags rather than the sniper sitting on a hill with the 3-0 K/D...) or just wanted to be an ar$e.

Bring back HP bars as I am a little over the red spalshes across the screen stuff and while we are at it I actually like the way health regens from a hub in BC2/2142 rather than insta heals as in BF2 so please keep that.

Limted charges on defibs would be interesting (make it rechargable off ammo packs maybe)...ah I'm just throwing wild stuff out there now time to stop...

WTB BF2 with new graphics and fancy stuff. Do not want jerky fat bulky movement like call of duty and its clone Bf:BC 2.
WTB Prone, WTB same squad leader style spawning as BF2 and WTB medbags.

Kits weighted so the bigger the gun you carry the slower you move, unlike BC2 at the moment. :roll:

The recoil spread setup properly so the big guns lose most of there accuracy when the player moves around while shooting, most big guns should for full accuracy you should need to crouch.

Destructible stuff would be awesome, in big maps whole towns leveled would look good. :)

Got use to the no prone so yeah leave it out, at least that would stop the prone spammers.

Back to the bigger squads for better team work, and get the voip working back to the standards of the BF2 days.

BF3 needs to continue on the battle-recorders like we had in BF2.

Totally multiple random spawn points, not like BF2 was.

Just chuck in most of what we had in BF2 all combined with above it should be good. 8)

No bugs.
Easily modifiable game modes for proper competition modes.
No over powered flashy **** like cod and moh.
Did I mention competitive game modes?
No global text talk.
Decent VOIP between squads.
Spamming weapons is not rewardable to retards.
Rego that does not mean making a hit box larger.

Agree with most of the above.

Bring back the Comm Rose where you can say thanks and no specifically (+ others)rather than the poor BC2 comm. Get rid of the stupid red triangle from spotting that you can see across the screen where you can simply aim at for spam kill. Should only appear on the map (or at least only you field of vision at best).

+1 Everything slayer said.

Is funny in BC2 out run someone as a fat medic carrying the heaviest gun

Main thing i would like is medics not to have the best guns in the game it always happens.BC2 all of them and BF2 AK101, AK47, L85A1 and G36E they need to weaken medics as there a support roll otherwise it will be like BF2 everyone medic
