BLAZE Sega MegaDrive Limited Edition

Unread postby News Portal » 24 Sep 10, 12:01 pm

The 16-bit era was a similarly divided but simpler time for now-20-something gamers; Nintendo and Sega butted heads with their contrasting consoles, and your choice was black or white. For those who chose black – black being Sega’s sexy little sound-deficient MegaDrive system – we have good news for you: the BLAZE two-player (yes!) ‘Streets of Rage’ limited edition home console is now available right here.

Happily, it also comes ready to fire with two controllers and the ability to display any original MegaDrive cartridges you might have kicking around on your banging new flatscreen.

how's the upscaling? ;) also what of the 50/60Hz business?

These are great little machines. Even though I already have 2x megadrive 2's and a megadrive one, and sega-cdx, this would be a sweet machine to take away on holidays. This one is better than the one sold at kmart, simply because streets of rage is in there. Which ones though would be helpful. If it's just 1, that's ****, but number 2 and 3 would be epic.

Why not just buy an original md for less $'s then this? At the end of the day this is a clone and every clones I have ever used is dubious quality And could never match up to the authentic hardware.

Why not get both?

Back to the original content, all 3 Streets of Rage games is nice but does it have Golden Axe or Wonderboy 4 (the side scrolling shooter one) as well?

Pretty sure these are made by Sega. So while they might not be exactly like an original SMD they would be close enough. If I was going to get one I'd buy it over an original SMD because it would have brand new controllers, and an AV input instead of the antenna jack.
