The depth of these games is good and they seem are popping up more which is great because they are fun and have huge replay value.

This looks like some crazy game that may actually be worth a go, seeing as I'll be done with school in 8 weeks and have copious amounts of time on hand, hope for an Aus release soon after the 24th!

hahah first thought man is this another pokemon game? turns out- yes yes it is, just slightly more retarded. Also on another note i think Japanese developers are good at reversing if not stopping the progress of gaming graphics- the day one of these games comes out with current graphic standards let me know- if not well the main reason i can think of the current visuals is cause they have a massive obsession with their manga or whatever its called heh, and to me that says its made for other japanese gamers, so im not going to buy there stuff- period.

After watching that clip I am totally speechless. I think I may of even lost a few IQ points. That looks totally lame.

I played Disgaea 3 on a 46" plasma.
While the sprites could have looked a lot sharper, it didn't really bother me that much. I'll take gameplay over graphics most of the time.

Man that game just freaks me out! My girlfriends into JRPGs and I am sure she will love this one, so each to their own eh?

2D Characters

Stereotypical jap game

Still non westernized

I've gotta say, i have a soft spot for these kinds of random games, some games these days take themselves too seriously, and then you have crazy over the top jap games that make a mockery of themselves and most other games and are so terribly fun to play you want to recommend it to everyone, then when you get the chance to tell everyone about it, bam, no one gets it.

It's interesting when you mentioned the graphics, 2d chars on a 3d background in the clip looked pretty decent. I'd go so far as to say the dev's for the game probably didnt want to go to hard with the graphics to keep the overhead for the game to a minimum and keep the visual style of the predecessor, so you cant really mark them down for that, i mean, for the style of game and the gameplay dont really call for that much of a graphical improvement, and if they sell more it means they will have more budget for their next outing, be it a continuation or a new IP.

I like it when we get reviews like this and the Final Fantasy ones, like reading and watching movies, you can broaden your perspective and give your self a challenge by trying out games you dont think you'll be interested in or didnt know about, as opposed to waiting for news on the next big blockbuster and playing the top ten games on metacritic.
As i play majority FPS games along with the occasional sandbox and rpg, i enjoy it for the immersion and story telling, so when it comes to RTS i kinda feel a bit lost, but i'm still willing to try them, hell i bought StarCraft2 having never bought nor played the first purely on speculation from friends and co-workers who are blizzard fans, and to date it hasnt disappointed, unlike other franchises closer to my liking have recently (the last stalker, MW2:MP, BFBC2).

If anything, to those guys who cant see appreciation in the game posted, try it before you say things like 'lost a few IQ points watching' or 'another pokemon' you gotta remember that these kinds of games sell for a reason, and hell, not like someones gonna pay you out for playing a game, right?

Never even heard of this game, or even the series...

Don't have a PS3 but this game looks intresting even though it seems like it should be for a hand held device.

And just like that, the PS3's game library is diversified yet again.

Too bad I never got the chance to finish the Disgaea games on the PS2, let alone even spent more than 4 hours on them. I couldn't handle the onslaught of great games that came out during that generation.

The best part of that video was the big fire guy with the leaf to hide his junk.

Not a big fan of those JRPG games.

There must be a reason why I haven't played any of these JRPG style games what with them all looking exactly the same, all women having anatomically impossible mammaries and humongous dilated pupils, people waving around swords 3 times bigger than themselves and/or superhero rodents that have robotic extremities??? Another miss for me I guess...

I watched that trailer and I still have no idea what this game is about. To me it looks like a game aimed at the fans of the series as they haven't persuaded me that its any good....
