Hackers on the rise?

Unread postby Kaimahi » 13 Sep 10, 12:49 pm

Now leaving out MW2 I can honestly say that I can probably count on 2 hands the number of hackers I had no doubt were hacking over the many games I have played over the years. I was actually saying to someone not long ago in game that a lot of gamers love to subscribe to a conspiracy theory about hacking that is just not there.

Now I think the majority of us that have played this game for a decent amount of time know how rubbish some of the miracle shots can be in this game and the spot button with it's lovely orange triangle makes shots especially easy to mistake however over the last couple of weeks my suspicions about players have increased a lot. Now I am not talking about the snapping between targets/boom headshot obvious ones it just seems to me that there are a lot of players using some kind of wall hack which is alot more subtle and harder to spot. These are the non high rank guys who consistently shoot you and your team across the map, through the smoke you drop for cover etc and rack up 40 and 2 k/ds by standing in one place.

Now my question out of curiosity is anyone else seeing the same trend lately or have I become an unwilling victim of my own conspiracy theory?.

To be honest with you, I can never tell when somebody is hacking in BC2 for numerous reasons (1. No spectating feature and 2.It's just hard to tell by looking at them for a 3rd person angle!).

But, you could be right about hackers coming through in the last 2-3 weeks..... Next time I play I will be more observant.

I thought it was uncommon too, but after a game the other night where i was getting killed by the same guy in sniper kit.
I killed him a few times and straight away he would be back like he didn't have to wait for the spawn timer.
Also the description of my death was by shotgun (dead in one shot from a mile away/headshot) then the kill cam showed him with a thompson and switching to pistol straight after my death. Could just be a animation cockup but
he did have an outragously high score and i was not the only player to point out his abillity to spawn rather quickly and perform odd feats within the game.

Yes they are out there, the cheats are getting more advanced but we still catch them and yes this game is harder to catch them in than it was in BF2 but we are catching them, I'm not going to say how we spot them but we do get them.

I find sometimes some things in game are strange but most of the time you can work out what happened.

If you find someone is doing some very sus stuff in a server drop into IRC and grab one of us admins here IRC

One last thing please do not mention any names in this thread, if you want to you can PM them to me who you think is sus and I'll look into it, I won't tell you if I think there sus or not but I will follow up the name. ;)

To be honest I do not stick around to much if I think there is a hacker on there these days I just move to another server (not helping I know but in my defence I am lazy).

I should learn how to use that nifty IRC thingy one of these days as though....

A lot of players (being the egotistical turds they are), especially the particularly skilled, start a new soldier so their stats are a lot tastier looking.

They're really good with all the weaps, but their kdr sucks from the learning curve at the start of MP - start a new warrior and hey presto! Better kdr.

And shooting through smoke...well, they might be hacking. But in addition to giving you some sweet cover, smoke also tells the opfor that theres probably dudes running through there.
Without my pants.

Absolutely yes. I think that there are now quite a few hackers on node servers - probably even more so than other servers in oceania.

An (example) with a faux germanic name in particular comes to mind over the last few weeks. This idiot'll headshot you with a pistol from across the map while on the jump everytime. He doesn't realise that his ridiculous stats and juvenile commentary bring him the opposite of respect. He just reacts childishly and ruins the game for all and sundry. Everytime this character appears on a node server you can see all and sundry begin to notice that his actions are suss. Sadly, admin ever seems to be present onlike on other servers where people regularly get bumped).

in (well named) 'Bad company' it is not possible with a screenshot to prove anything. A bsic google search will show there are plenty of gamer sites advertising various BC hacks across the net which are p/buster proof. Ultimately If you have played a while you can often seperate the good players from hackers from the manner in which the latters miraculous deeds matches these advertised hacks exactly.

Like others I just move to another server.

Five second search on google explains most of what i have seen/suspected during games. I must admit i really only playon GON GameArena and 3fl servers and the GON servers are the ones where i have seen the most.
They even go on to say they update there code to stay ahead of punkbuster and have a "security" feature wher if the hack detects and update to Pbuster it will kick you out to there update page saving you from getting banned.
Awsome.
I bet these people also didn't even pay for the game they are screwing for everyone else.

"We have updated our Bad Company 2 Hacks again! You can now use our aimbot and kill anyone across the map with only a pistol or any other weapon! All our head shots are dead on accurate. Our Bad Company 2 Hacks features full chams (glowing player models for better targeting). You can set your hack up ingame to take down every player in one shot or you can set the aimbot on the spine, leg, hand or any other of our 60+ bone selections and look like your a legit player"
