EA server status

Worked it out.

There are some settings/features of the TCP/IP stack in Win7 and Vista which can cause issues.

I had to disable one of these features:
netsh int tcp set global ecncapability=disable

After that the Updater responded (and updated) and I can now see servers etc.

hey guys, not sure if this has been mentioned but i just worked out how to tell if ea servers are down or not:

ping blogs.battlefield.ea.com

or isup.me them

they were down just now, isup.me said down so i pinged with -t, waited until it replied and was able to log back in, in game

i had an issue last night where i couldn't find any servers so i renamed the BFBC2 folder in my Documents and restarted the game, logged into my account again and server browser worked again. that was around 7:30pm though

Lets see hmm it's Tuesday, oh yeah that's right maintenance night been that way for years in BF2.
