Can't wait for this to start. This will definitely be one of the more fun competitions where little effort is involved.

Haikus are awful
They don't make much sense at all
Um, something something.

Haikus are quite good
But sometimes they don't make sense

This comp looks like a lot of busywork.

ja same, to those worried about the specific news items being spammed with "entries" I would suggest to you to start commenting on every news feed you can possibly add something even slightly interesting to in hopes of making it slightly less obvious whilst at the same time, honing your news feed commenting skills.

This is an ingenious treasure hunt i look forward to taking part in. Good luck to all and sundry.

This comp is all very nice, but isn't there anything new on Duke Nukem today?
There must be something. A screenshot? An ex-developer spilling the beans?

Already own this card. :)

I agree 25 words comps are annoying though... it's all dependent on who decides which post is the best so there's little "skill" involved... it's just a lottery at the end of the day.

What are your thoughts on it, Domitian?

I'm aware that Shen recommends the ATi HD5850 for his Uber Value PC, but... well... "The launching model of Radeon HD 5870 can support 3 display outputs at most. An Eyefinity edition of Radeon HD 5870, with 2 GB GDDR5 memory, supporting 6 simultaneous displays to be connected to the mini DisplayPort outputs, was released recently. The Radeon HD 5870 has 1600 usable stream cores, while the Radeon HD 5850 has 1,440 usable stream cores, as 160 out of the 1,600 total cores are disabled during product binning which detects potentially defective areas of the chip."

And when you go to a comparsion page saying that one's core runs at 725MHz and its memory runs at 1000MHz while the other runs at 850MHz and 1200MHz respectively, it tends to make us less-technical people confused. So please hype up your magnificent (hopefully!) card.

Well, as others have pointed out there is a real reason for this. If the competition is not one of skill then it becomes a lottery which falls under gambling regulations.
If you look around you will see throughout your life these "games of skill" appear quite a few times, for instance those games where you have to SMS the name of a star from a new movie, usually just after they have shown you the trailer for the movie which shouted out "Starring Wil Smith" ten times.

Sounds good to me. Just have to find a little more time to actually post what I want to post in threads but never get round to doing.
Would also be a nice upgrade from my 8800GT.

Let all this begin in 25mins! :)
