BSOD's

Unread postby Shinanigans » 1 Jul 10, 8:06 pm

So, i played Borderlands the other day for the first time in months and the thing blue screened on me... which subsequently corrupted my Windows install and i had to format. Kthanks.

So, i format, get everything running nice, get a few of my games happening again. Fire up some Borderlands, chillin out, running sweet... BAM... blue screen...

I was readying up to start throwing things around the room if it corrupted my install again but thankfully it hasn't. So i'm wondering... has anyone else had BSOD's while Borderlanding?

I've never had a problem with BSOD in borderlands but having a separate issue with Catalyst 10.6 drivers and trying to find cause/solution I read that they have caused others problems with Borderlands as well. Are they the drivers you have been using?

Probably just the stress on your card.
"I'm not going to be your grunge monkey" "Cuzza WOWzer!"
"We are gonna rock the town red" "I'm preggers with food"
"We got on like a fire" "Duke Nukem as in Captain Planet?"

Are you running Catalyst 10.7? The BSODing is a known issue.

As for your Windows installation corrupting, I'm not sure what would do that.

Well 10.7 does cause a memory leak on Win7 64bit systems (and is in the release notes) but while I have to test it further with an extended play, I disabled Catalyst AI and that seemed to fix the problem for the most part. Just have to try it with a longer test to be sure.
