I was interested to see what they were going to do, with Chell being dragged away in the update, and then them crushing any thoughts of an Aperture Science/HL2 tie-in. But the trailer explains a fair bit (as well as what we already know).

Well, not fsck it, but damn them for not doing more HL2 first. Or HL3.
Ill still be buying this, and enjoying it, but I want my dissatisfaction made clear on the continued lack of half life progress.

I've got a suspicion thats intentional - just the Portal universe the way Valve intended.

It's one of the internal Valve guys, whom job is normally a texture artist or something like that. It's just a placeholder currently.
