cancelled TV shows

Unread postby tranquil » 3 Jun 10, 9:39 pm

Seems alot of tv shows are being cancelled again. i've been out of the tv loop for a while so this is probably old news to some. this time it's heroes, 24, legend of the seeker, flash forward.. :( seems all my favourite shows get cancelled (well maybe not Heroes, kinda glad thats over).

anywho might aswell make a topic out of this, what's everyones favourite cancelled tv show? mine would be Firefly or Rome.

I didn't realised they were cancelling Legend of the Seeker. Noooooooooo!!! It's strangely good.

I was reading some comments just yesterday about how a lot of people in the US are holding off from watching NEW shows until they get a second season because they are sick of investing time in a new show only for it to be cancelled after the first season... but then the TV execs are seeing that new shows don't get the support and then cancel them, making everything go around in circles  Personally would love to kill the person that came up with the first reality tv show. As for shows that I wished were never cancelled, of course Firefly (they will never live that down) but others (in no particular order) are Dead Like Me, Pushing Daisies, The Unit, Dresden Files, John Doe, Stargate Atlantis (like they can't have more then one Stargate show going at the same time), Angel and Better off Ted.

Futurama and all the Star Trek series. Except maybe the original, that would be kinda old by now.

the wire, sopranos, deadwood all need to come back. and i vote +1 for star trek voyager.. they could of dragged that on for plenty more years getting home instead of a magic wormhole to get them back quicker..

also "the mysterious cities of gold" needs to have a resurection :)

Simon Pegg also needs to stop doing romantic comedies and finally make the long-rumoured third season of Spaced :P

Everyone is forgetting;

ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT
FIREFLY

Others I wouldn't mind seeing come back are FlashForward, Dead Like Me, John Doe, and umm... damn I know there's a few more... too early for me to think at the moment.

Forgetting, tactfully ignoring. It's a fine line.

Firefly.

They will only live it down if we let them. :adminfinger:
Damn that was a great show. One of the few TV progs (that isn't anime) that I have on DVD (bought from a shop).

Dark Angel was a show I wanted to keep going. Many didn't like the last season (season 2), but watching it recently I can't be convinced of that - would have loved to see more of it. Apparently it was partly Michael Weatherly's fault - he didn't want to be written out of the show and since he was boning Jess Alba at the time he had a bit of a say unfortunately.

Also, Terminator: TSCC got ditched after 2 seasons and I thought it had some potential. Again though, I can understand why it got canned as it was kinda hard to get into if you'd missed a few episodes and it didn't have a huge following.

A show I was GLAD got canned - Prison Break... Season 1 was great, season 2 was pretty good too, but season 3 felt tacked on and season 4 was ridiculous.

How could you say that?

Arrested Development was fantastic. Such a cleverly written show, I've not seen a show that matches its quality.

I watched all three seasons of that at the start of this year and it's still amazing.

Better Off Ted should have at least finished airing. Same with Smith.
