Ah damn I did the same thing, my real email is a Gmail and I had to borrow my website email to make an account here.

Why on earth do they do this to us, not everyone has an isp email. And I'm not gonna use my parents one, they don't even use it as they also use Gmail.

using a free email for the comp should be fine, you just need the isp email to sign up, I agree it's pretty lame though I understand why it's done

Why don't they notify via email as well? Thats just stupid that you enter and realise you've used the wrong email.. seriously need some form of revision of how they do things..

They don't necessarily have to notify you via Private Message.

I believe if it was a forum comment competition the winners would be notified by Private Message. If the competition required you to send an email to an address, the winners would be notified by email.

I can verify this statement can be true. Because when I won the Day 3 Metro 2033 comp it was a post a comment under the competition for your entry which I was notified by Forum Private Message that I had won. I also entered in the Just Cause 2 competition which was to send an email to the competitions email address, which I was then notified by email that I had won. And that Terms and Conditions statement is also mentioned in the Just Cause 2 competition T&C. So what probably happened was a simple copy and paste and changed the dates + prize details.

For the Metro comp (post a 25 word comment) I was notified by private message which sent me an email anyway stating I had a PM.

For this comp I was just sent email, as it was an emailed entry.

I to made the error of using Gmail account rather than the trash hotmail one attached to GON. Sigh
