just wondering.. why didn't you guys just incorporate BF2:Aus with PR? Then they get a new faction and you guys have you work played by hundreds of PR fans along with your own? Why have competition when you can combine and deliver to two audiences?

we were asked many times and we took serious thought to the idea,overall we felt bf2aus should be kept fast paced and keep the traditional battlefield gameplay.

Except the pace and gameplay of your own independent mod wouldn't be impacted if you simply contributed to PR.

Obviously you weren't interested in doing that, but your reasoning only makes sense in the context that someone asked you to change your own mod.

Just out of curiosity, how are you comparing them?

AusForces (AFAIK + respect) is basically vanilla BF2 with Aussie assets.

Project Reality is almost an entirely different game, just sharing the same engine.

... and the end result? Us punters miss out and all the work ALL of you put in goes to waste to some degree. Wouldn't it be great if you could get over the issues, communicate through it and reach agreement.

It's so cool to play with Aussie characters, skins whatever you call them. It would be great to see an Aussie PR faction. Hats off to the clever people who put collossal hours into modding - but at the end of the day, I'm less concerned about who did the work and more concerned about having fun.

I spent hours recording voice files years ago for Ghost Recon which never went public - I have a taste of the effort required - a tiny taste. It would be brilliant if you could see the big picture.
