Tynoran was raised in a secluded monastery by an order of monks and priests. Though he was initially schooled in martial arts by the monks, Tynoran was more captivated by the magic studied by the priests. That they restricted their use of this seemingly-endless source of power to only healing seemed to Tynoran a waste; he took to studying tomes of magic and lore on his own in the monastery's library until the priests, worried at what he might unknowingly unleash or the harm he might inadvertently cause someone, sent him away. In particular, his fascination with necromancy and the extent to which the concepts of power and the mastery of death captivated him were responsible for his being sent away. And so Tynoran, frustrated at the priests' "ignorance," has come to Edon to gain mastery of the magic of death.

While he often comes across as something of a buffoon when making first impressions, Jick's light-hearted jests and general antics, including possessing a "great fear" of a great many things, create a facade which effectively masks a dark (both literally and figuratively) past.

Jick's pointed ears perk up at any mention of drow; he hates them with a passion, nursing a burning desire for vengeance against the dark elves as a race. But Jick's hatred of the drow is more complex than mere blind racism -- he was captured by a surface raiding party at a very young age, and lived many years among the drow as a slave. His fighting prowess was something in which the drow found entertainment-potential: he was placed in the arena/pit, where drow weaponmasters trained him (employing brutal tactics the likes of which he would rather not recall) for competition with other gladiators. Such fights were, of course, to the death.

The details surrounding Jick's escaping this situation (and the Underdark itself) are unclear, but several things are easy to tell from meeting or observing the elven warrior:

-he is unused to moving in grassy areas, having lived the majority of his life in the caves of the Underdark and drow complexes.

-he seems to have suffered some kind of drastic loss of ability since his peak as a master gladiator in the drow arenas, and often speaks of regaining tricks and blade techniques that he had once possessed.

-as far as motivations go, an astute observer will quickly deduce that he does not think highly of the surface/drow truce... Jick does not intend to let some bureaucratic foolishness interfere with his vengeance.

Lara is one of the founding matriarchs of her family business, House Arna. While Emma handles most of the day-to-day business that actually keeps the House afloat, Lara pursues special tasks and finds new trade avenues. However, she is still a very skilled alchemist in her own right and maintains the House’s Helios storefront.

Lara and House Arna first rose to prominence in the days of the war with the Underdark. Emma provided much of the crafting for the Surface, while Lara was a central operative in the surface special forces group SPEC. In these days their motivations were to defeat the undead and drive the surface to new heights of accomplishment.

As the war ended, and with it the collapse of the Edon economy, Lara left Edon for a time to travel with Emma and re-establish their fortunes someplace else. They found new business in another land, and nowadays Emma remains there to handle their core business.

Lara has recently come back to Edon for reasons connected to her House business. She is disappointed with much of what she sees – infighting and a general apathy towards the undead, and wants to help where she can, but is ultimately focused on her current mission. These days she can be usually found either alone in the Helios trade hall writing, or alone on Misty Isle utilising the special forces skills developed in SPEC. Whatever she is after, it seems to be located there.

History: Fickle was made as a puppet (complete with strings) to entertain children but after “the accident” (lets just call it that) was given the gift of free thought. His strings were removed and he was soon put to work as a spy, infiltrating the Undead faction for his surface master. However as the years past he soon learned that the Undead faction isn’t such a bad place and stayed on even after the wars finished. He now serves as an “Assistant” to anyone who requires it.

Appearance: Roughly average elven height (same as Kyreen) and build. Skin white as a ghost. Shortish, messy black hair. Purple eyes, with "catlike" pupils. White, feathered wings. Long, "curved" triangle-ish tattoos, one on each cheek (point-down) and dark blue-purple in color

Chaotic, but with a heart of pure gold. Ark strives to protect the Edonites from the Scourge to the best of his abilities, and he's been known to bend or break the rules to do so. When not in combat, he's usually pretty cheerful, though slightly shy when directly addressed by a stranger. He usually keeps this even in combat however, and has frequently been known to have lots and lots of fun on the battlefield, particularly against dragons and Scourge, but against other opponents on occasion as well. However, this is when the battles are away from civilization. The moment even a single soul (besides whatever party he's in at the time) is at risk, his demeanor becomes more serious - the scale of the seriousness depending how many lives are at stake.

Unsurprisingly, given her faith, Aschala is almost always cheerful and very rarely angry or sad. Her very aura tends to lift people's spirits even on the battlefield. She isn't very prone to fear, and her confidence has given her an edge in tough battles from time to time. Asch's background is mostly unknown at the moment, but what is known is that she was trained from a very young age to be a special agent, a powerful force for Lliira. She notably never is seen carrying a weapon, save for a small dagger in one of her boots, implying she is an unarmed fighter.

Goals & Aspirations: Secretly, to have knowledge of all the secrets of the world, to use as he chooses... beyond that, not much else besides his next target and his next paycheck.

Blaze is truly the definition of a killer for hire. He doesn't delude himself with misplaced beliefs that what he does is designated to him (or the people he kills) through fate or any divine intervention. Not even for the "thrill of the hunt" - his mind is set on the money. To people that actually meet him, it's obvious that he's cold, calculating, but confident, even rather cocky. While occasionally seen with a fellow adventurer, he doesn't seem to have any real friends - just his sharp senses, his fine skills, and his trusty (and unusual) greatsword. And that seems to suit him just fine in his life as a lone assassin.

Appearance: Extremely tall, very muscular. Skin is pale from living without sunlight for so long, also eerily smooth and lacking scars. Very long, pure black hair. Piercing, fiendish, bright blue eyes. Has a pair of ram-like horns on his head. Reddish, batlike demon wings.

Of the few times this creature has actually been run into, he is... strange. While obviously a demon and undoubtedly evil, he lacks the constant, complete focus on violence. While certainly ferocious and never backing down from a fight (as long as it's in his favor of course), he seems to just as easily become eerily persuasive and diplomatic. However, once provoked into actual battle he becomes absolutely terrifying, launching into crazed frenzies and calling the power of Nocticula. Put simply, he is a champion of the darkness, voluntarily spreading evil wherever he goes (one way or another). However, it remains to be seen if he will truly become a threat or not...

On occasion this elven archeress can be seen dashing through the city or down one of the well-traveled roads of Edon, but generally she seems to avoid most society. When she is encountered, she remains cool and collected, and doesn't seem to easily fly off the handle. Her black longbow bears the emblem of Shevarash, indicating that any drow she happens to come across won't slide past easily, if at all. However, while quite icy in demeanor when approached, she does still welcome company on occasion, and after a time her tone may become friendlier - even if she's almost never ever seen cracking a smile.

Kania has only recently arrived in the lands of Edon - where she came from is unknown. The heavily-scarred elf also doesn't seem to speak Common or understand it (save for her name), preferring to communicate in animal-like growls, chirps, and so on. She can also speak Elven, but seems a bit reluctant to do so. She has yet to be seen in any relaxed or happy state - mostly fury, and at best, tenseness. Though she does seem to have an attitude of utter rage towards undead, and seems rather thrilled when she cuts them down into pieces with her unusual, battered, notched greataxe. She also refuses to use any helmet other than her own - a half-orc skull "stapled" to an actual helm, with ram horns attached to it. Why this is is unknown, but she refuses to let anyone or anything take it, or even touch it most of the time.

Appearance: Slightly taller than the average elf, slim but hardy. Fair/slightly pale-complected. Messy, shoulder-length black (actually really dark brown) hair. Has a reddish "devil" tail as long as he is tall, with a venomous spike on the end

Known Associates: Syrana (best friend from childhood), Kizarra (also best friend from childhood), Lelitina Ashina (forced traveling companion)

Kaz is all kinds of wrong and evil. If you can think of any kind of crime, he's probably committed it, everything from subtle forgery to simple robbery to outright meaningless slaughter. He is homicidal, chaotic, bloodthirsty, cannibalistic (yes, really), and an absolute messed-up psycho nutcase - but not cold. He's still very emotional. For some reason, he gets extremely upset and angry in the presence of a paladin - more so than even his obvious fiendish nature would cause. The key to this likely lays somewhere in his past, which is closed off to all but Kizarra and Syrana. In a stroke of the worst luck possible, he and Lelitina, an elven paladin of Tyr, have been forced - geased, in fact - to adventure together until they find a luck token - which neither party is particularly pleased about.

Known Associates: Unclear (as with Arky, right now it's hard to say, since many have left/disappeared/died/gone on hiatus.)

Goals & Aspirations: Questionable - while she willingly fights the Mor go Roth and the Scourge when she finds them, it's not clear if she even has any true goals.

While Ky is generally fairly friendly, she's a bit of a closed book and a strange individual. Her behavior seems erratic and impulsive, and it's questionable if she even really thinks about the results (and consequences) of her seemingly random actions. It's probably a good guess that if it weren't for Arkuel's guidance, she would be even more whimsically destructive (or constructive), having no true morals of her own. Despite this, she's very educated, and incredibly learned in general lore, be it facts, theories, or legends. Her chaotic behavior is not to be taken as meaning she's wishywashy or "blank" in any way - she's still ridiculously stubborn, very opinionated, and easily angered.

Appearance: Short with a tiny build. Lightly tanned skin from time outdoors. Long, medium-dark brown hair, sometimes tied back. Large, curious, and bright brown eyes. Has a long, jagged scar on the left side of her torso, from shoulder to hip.

Ryn is a sweetheart among sweethearts. She doesn't like fighting anything unless it's in self-defense or she has a very good reason. However, she's very innocent and naive, and could very easily be tricked - for better or for worse. But she's still wise enough that some degree of cunning and subtlety would need to be used. Despite this, it's basically fooling a child with better intuition than most. She is also always hunted by the Scourge (and the gods only know what else), as within her body is apparently something that the invading demons want, for whatever reason, and as a result they are the only thing she will fight without previous provocation. Despite constantly being hunted, she maintains a very happy-go-lucky and cheerful attitude towards whoever she meets.

Srylithe Z'haviir

Appearance: Tall and imposing, never ever seen without her black and gold armor. Typical drow ebony complexion, long silver-white hair, and crimson eyes.

Enemies: Utter, total hatred for the surfacers

Cruel, merciless, condescending, and overbearing. This drow priestess carries herself with the aura of a matron mother - and indeed she was, for in the books of history are tales of House Z'haviir, which was wiped out during the Drow Wars. The reason for that is unclear - some say it was simply a successful surface raid, others say she was overthrown by other houses. In either case, Srylithe seems quite embittered by the experience. How she survived is unclear, and if asked she responds simply with "Kiaransalee's blessing". While normally calm, if her patience is tested she quickly becomes angry and abusive (both physically and mentally).

Appearance: Tall, built pretty solidly. Fair-skinned, not unlike a person from northern lands. It's hard to make out anything else as he always wears a cloak, hood and scarf, though stray locks of crimson hair can sometimes be seen

When he can actually be talked to and isn't running around all over Edon, Ten seems like a pretty cheery, happy-go-lucky type, having fun both in the tavern and on the battlefield. He tends to keep to himself most of the time, but once approached he's rather extroverted. However, besides that not much is really known about him. He's often heard humming many different songs, and carries a gigantic scythe. The air around him is always oddly cool or even quite cold, even standing in the middle of the wastes of Ibitz Stahn. However, upon even seeing Scourge, his personality does a complete flip, and he becomes focused, tense, even seeming rather primal, and will attack Scourge without provocation and without mercy. And then once the battle is ended, he goes back to cheerful and optimistic. Confusing.

Yaurith Northblade

Occupation/Class: Battle-Priestess of Tempus (Cleric/Fighter - will end up Cleric/Fighter/WM)
Appearance: Tall and imposing. Body type hard to see, as she's always in armor. Tanned skin and shoulder-length blonde hair. Piercing amber eyes.
Loyalties/Group Affiliations: The folk of Ziegen
Family: Unknown, presumed dead at the hands of the undead

Yaurith is quite serious and levelheaded, though easily amused. Her battered armor and emblazoned shield immediately mark her as a cleric of Tempus. She also seems slightly embittered - and given her origins are in Ziegen, this is likely due to the past destruction of the old city during the Drow Wars. She has appeared in Helios on orders from the higher clerics of her faith, but she refuses to disclose it to anyone. As of late, she has joined with an oddball group, led by a halfling captain with his signature red hat and coat. Yaurith is greatly amused by poking fun at her comrade Nyminda's "not-quite-average" melee combat skills.

Appearance: Roughly average elven height, other than that nothing is visible - he wears a hooded/cowled cloak and fully obscuring armor. The only other thing visible is the purplish-blue, dark, translucent shadow dragon wings.

Family: Unknown, presumed dead

Nothing is really known about Zho besides his obvious draconic nature and his choice of blade (a katana), except to the highest-ranking members of the La'Throtep house. When seen around someone he's guarding, he's very stoic and silent, never speaking unless directly addressed, and even then preferring simple gestures and motions for simple answers. However, he gets flustered when talked to in a friendly manner, rather than ordered or questioned, as if he doesn't know what to do. If caught alone (or, rarely, traveling with someone other than a house member), it's easily seen that he's ridiculously shy and skittish, and still not particularly chatty. It can be assumed that this is a result of serving for such a long time that he doesn't know how to react to friendliness.

Personality quirks: Sabine is constantly-in-motion, fuelled by sugar consumption. Whether bouncing, flying, or simply skipping from foot-to-foot, she rarely stays still for very long and loves to have fun. Politeness and manners are instilled, though she is known to break out into oblivious teenaged honesty at times. Terribly affectionate and protective, she's still learning some of the basic lessons in life -- under the light of the blue star all spells are outside spells, Scourge are not your friends even if you tell them to be, and Priska might look pretty but is nowhere near as wonderful as Aley and Guardian!
