Best - 2004 BMW 318i

Most fun - either the BMW, or my sisters 1996 Honda Civic. Man it sounds awesome when you plant it and it's just generally epic lol.

I have a de-cat pipe and I don't shoot flames. If you're running rich enough to blow flames there's a problem with your tune (too rich.. or you could be running a BEE*R rev limiter..).

I just have the inside of the catalytic converters smashed out in my ute and it throws out flames when you back off the accelerator. Haven't had it tuned yet, maybe I should as it's starting to run a bit abnormal.

Nah man rotaries are notorious for flamage, regardless of tune (not sure why, I'm thinking the extremely low compression). As for other cars, it depends on your 0% throttle/load injector pulse, or the update rate of your ecu... Like my cranially challenged delco doesn't know I've lifted off the pedal until about 80ms after I've lifted, and if I were flat, it would still pulse the injectors at almost full duty cycle for that time. This makes the mixture too rich for that .8 of a second, and I'll end up with a few ml of fuel in the exhaust, which will light up on the next hot exhaust stroke (when I touch the pedal again to start pulsing the injectors), making loud crackles and so on. I spend quite a lot of time with engines and associated tuning software in case you couldn't tell. :) I love Bee*R limiters for a laugh, cut spark instead of fuel, fill the exhaust with fuel while rpm falls back below the limit, then re-ignite (key bangers anyone?). Fun for the whole family! :P

Ford Falcon XR8 Ute AU series 2 powered by a 5L V8 (302 windsor). It's a computer problem as sometimes it runs normal, other times it runs rough. Throttle positioning sensor works fine, and injectors have been cleaned out.

I work in a major car auction/warehousing company, so i get to drive alot of different cars as a stock controller. From HSV's to SS's to FPV GTs to Skylines, Supras,BMW, Jaguar etc. The facility is huge and we can certainly give it the boot, no top speed stuff but enough to check out acceleration.

I had already taken a few photos for myself so i will start to share them hereand add more as time goes on.

I'd give the throttle body a good clean, and get my exhaust sensor tested. With a hollow cat there's a slight chance your sensor isn't getting hot enough any more and is slightly out of range. More probably, it's just an old sensor and could do with a replacement. This is all assuming you just mean a rough idle... Is it getting worse on fuel than it usually is? Is it rough on idle or on the power?

Hey cam, my XR6T seems to be getting worse on fuel, currently at 19L per hundred around town, when i first bought it it would use around 16/100, any thoughts?...

The ecu will vary mixtures/timing according to intake/ambient/coolant temperature (and the rest)... You in a fairly hot climate? If last summer wasn't an issue I'd be looking at the usuals (air filter, plugs, bash on the cat with the side of a clenched fist and make sure it isn't falling apart and blocking up, you don't want to hear big rattles), it's not a very dramatic increase. Could be one of your temp sensors throwing the wrong reading causing the engine to take measures to avoid pinging too... So yeah after you've checked the usuals and if nothing seems to help, I'd see about getting the ecu plugged into by someone, running a few tests on all sensors (including the notorious exhaust sensor), and get them to check for error codes.
