Reminder for those who submit demos

Unread postby emp28 » 12 Mar 07, 10:33 am

Hi Guys,

Lately we've had an influx of submissions for cheaters that have not included a status during the recording of the demo or a screenshot of status in the zip/rar. This means that we do not have proof of steam id and also no proof that the event happened on an internode game server. I'm sure in the next few days as people read their pm's there are going to be a lot of unhappy submitters due to the fact that we cannot ban without this proof and have informed them of this. To solve this issue, this is a reminder for all those who submit:

After you have typed record demoname please follow it up with a status as that way the full status call will be present in the demo we review. When finished recording then do your usual stop.

alternatively

type status before/after/during recording and take a screenshot of it and zip/rar it up with the demo and submit.

If you can help us by including the status details, we can help you by removing cheaters from the servers.

Also a note about filling out the forms correctly.

Selecting the gametype helps, however there's a slight bug with it meaning that submissions for both CS 1.6 and CS: Source get piled into the same place without any distinctive labels, hopefully this will be fixed soon, but for the time being it would be appreciated if in the Other comments field, you could specify whether its 1.6 or Source.

Also please fill in the SteamID correctly in the field, we have tools that can search for all submissions relating to a particular SteamID, however, these will only work if you have filled out the field correctly. Sometimes whilst your submission may be treated as not guilty due to insufficient evidence, when combined with a future submissions from someone else, the decisions can change.

I've noticed this a few times with some people having trouble submitting demos..

When you go to submit a demo here. When you go to select the "game name", if you don't get a big drop down box with a list of games it's because you're not logged in properly and you need to be logged in to submit a demo/trouble maker report (tmr). So if you get this problem where you don't get a big list of games and only get a dash line, check up the top of the page above the Internode Ad to make sure you're logged in properly. You wouldn't be logged in properly if it asks for a Username and Password.
I believe whatever doesn't kill you, simply makes you... stranger
