Augur Britt and Kelin stumbled across what appeared to be a Scourge leader of sorts in the company of a contingent of demonic allies holing up with the lizardfolk in their hideout in the Great Northern Forest. All Scourge and lizards were eliminated and there was no opportunity for questioning, so whether or not there was any sort of loose alliance between the lizardfolk and the Scourge -- or whether the Scourge were themselves encroaching on/antagonizing the lizardfolk -- remains unknown. What was ultimately confirmed was that the leader, who proved extremely difficult for the two seasoned adventurers to take down, was a Scourge of the Reaver variety.

The incident was reported to Lord Dunraven and to Marco Hyronicus, who have issued a general notice that any other such unusual Scourge sightings should be reported and, if possible, dealt with.

Newly-rebuilt Trondor is already experiencing disturbing tragedies...
A merchant wagon travelling from Helios to Trondor, by road, stumbled across the grisly remains of a mostly-eaten female corpse lying in the path. They also found a frightened young woman, believed to be the dead victim's younger sister by a year, hiding behind a tree, weeping hysterically, covered in blood...

Investigators have questioned the living sister (identity withheld by request), who claims that both she and her sibling were dragged violently out of their home late at night when most of the townspeople were asleep, and out into the wilderness. She says that all she remembers of the criminal was "glowing red eyes", and various tortures too disturbing to be put in this paper were performed upon both her and her sister -- her sister being eaten soon after. She says she does not know why she was left alive, if only barely so.

Investigators are still looking for the killer...

Despite having a mysterious badger open the door for him, Arkuel Fay'drithe has defeated the Dread Unga by himself!

Information was recently given to the Edon Harbringer of a terrible occurence in Helios.
It appears that an entire family of nobles - of all ages - were brutally slain, although the wounds of the less-charred corpses suggest assassination. It is believed that the building was put to the torch when the inhabitants were slain.
One man was found outside the burning building, near death. His last words before he died - the clerics were unable to be contacted soon enough - were a mumbling of the "Silver Assassin".
Further information has been restricted, however...

There have been reports that the Black Watch is aligning itself with Zenith's Army. If that can happen, will the Apocalypse Guard, asleep in their tombs, arise once again? Harbinger reporters want to know, but the Citadel refuses comment! Also, in our Sunday Edition, alcoholic sues Salty Dog for 'being too readily accessible'. Lawyers from Icevale to Loknar comment.

Poinfinger peers into her silver mirror and sees the lines of weariness, with her fingers she traces them, counting at least four, that’s four more than she has ever had.
It has been so tiring of late, the toll of casting so much magic over and over again. Marcos can keep his ranking system if this is the price I have to pay she thinks to herself. In the next moment she negates that thought when she reminds herself of all the people lives that are counting her and all the other heroes. Besides which she knows she still is the most beautiful even with a few lines.
The scourge are relentless, never ending it seems. But there is hope, for after the attack on Helios she heard a public official saying something about soul traps, scourge soul traps. This is quite significant and the rangers need to be told of it. Alkarl and pointy had come across some objects that would fit the description of the soul traps…if only she could remember what else the town official had said about them. But then her memory isn’t one of her strong points.

"Now Unga, if you'd just supply me a Dragon Token, I would be too busy fighting the Scourge to stop by here to use you to train my pet bugs"

Unga repiles ... "I will crush you"

Soon after this, the sounds of the mighty Unga are heard .... being fed to this mystery Rakshasa's pet bugs.

"So, did ye hear? Apparently the Scourge are lookin' for that young Ryn girl... one of them shifter types, she is. I reckon that if the Scourge be wantin' her, we Edonites best be figurin' out what all the fuss is about!
