Banning suggestion

Unread postby Skulls » 23 Nov 11, 11:56 am

Hi guys,

Can I make a suggestion, as many - like me - don't get a chance to read the games.on.net COD4 rules beofre shooting at people. Can the admin's please let the offender know why they risking banning (e.g. please stop doing X, or you will be banned). Also, I feel that fits in with the rules:
http://games.on.net/pages.php?page=rules

Penalties and appeals
If you break our rules, you will be penalised!

While in the majority of cases an Admin will, or attempt to warn you that your actions are unacceptable, in some cases a ban will be issued instantly and will apply across all like servers. This is in the case of such rules as, but not limited to:
•Cheating
•Racism
•Admin impersonation
•Linking or making specific references to cheat, pornographic, shock, or inappropriate websites via in game text or player names
The correct method of appeal is through Games On Net and not Internode directly - requests sent to Internode will be directed back to Games On Net. More information can be found on the Ban Appeal and Information page or in our FAQ

I'd just like to point out that the tone of this seems to suggest perm ban's are only if there is no other option. I feel that this is not the case in mine and other bans I've seen, and that legitimate players are getting caught in a web of wanabe God complex welding admins.

All I'm asking is some consideration to common sense. Warn before banning. Look forward to thoughts.

Thanks,

When the game first came out and for about 2 years we warned all the time and we still give warnings for simple things like swearing etc. All other things that break our rules don't need a warming.
By playing on our servers you agree to abide by these rules.

And we always say if you think it is WRONG DON'T DO IT!!!!!

The Funniest thing is players say they don't know the rules but after being banned they put in a ban appeal in and in there appeal they always say i knew it was wrong but didn't think i would be banned from all servers.

Don't forget now the game is over 4 years old and more players are finding new things to do ingame that at first did not know about like bounce jumping for one.

all rules are here i hope this helps you understand what we have to deal with everyday for the last 4 years just to try and keep our servers clean from cheats and player abusing the rules..

One last thing bans for first offense for simple things are:
1st=2 weeks
2nd=4-6 weeks
3rd=3-6mths
after this no returning.

Reload glitching should not be in the rules. All you have to do is reload, then sprint after the ammo counter updates, and you have skipped the remainder of the reload animation. It's so easy that if you watched any player for ~5 minutes, you would most likely see them do it (probably by accident). To be fair, you might as well shut the servers down because everyone should be banned.

And this is why we do not ban every player most players do it by mistake its the ones who do it every time they reload just to get the edge on other players these are the ones we ban.
A good player needs no advantage over other players at all.

Holy ****! Someone else who actually knows something about this game.
Agreed, remove "reload glitching" as it is not even a glitch.

Its fair to say that you have never tried to play this game competitively cause you have no clue about how to play lol.

Let me break it down for you, CoD4 is an easy game. The best players in the world are not the best aims they are the people that know how to use the exploits that are built into the game.
