Only way this game is gonna see me buying it is if they release a dedicated server patch.

You know, to be honest after I started the poll I waited a few days then voted "yes" with the thought of buying it after a year or so after the price goes down. Assuming they don't release SDK and Dedicated servers. As soon as they release dedicated servers - I dare you to try and stop me from buying it!!

However as the weeks since starting this pole have gone and they've continued to ignore the PC community and our concerns, refusing to even explain this decision with anything more than "Trush us, it'll be better over all", I've decided that it's simply not good enough. Then there was a comment along the lines of "Why are IW creating such changes to the PC platform, Aren't you limiting the PC potential?" "Not at all, PC has customisations like mouse, text chat and graphics options".

THEN I watched the COD4 promo video somebody posted up here on this forum from gametailors.com of somebody from IW stating the PC will be perfect for COD4. I got thinking, at the time I didn't care. What he was saying about COD4 was marketing spin. He's saying stuff that is pretty standard, nothing new, nothing special. It's a given that there will be dedicated servers at least 32 players. That's as much of a game feature as Air Conditioning is in a modern car. It's so much of a common feature it's standard and shouldn't need to be mentioned. Only when you look back from the perspective of MW2 that these minimum standards look like new, fantastic and remarkable features.

Now I've decided, no matter how much I want single player, I'm not going to have it. Too bad for me. But too bad for them also. They've put no effort into trying to sell this new system, they've not tried to explain how it works and why it's better. From a PR point of view it's a nightmare.

another game that can jump off a bridge. just like Left For Dead 2 and the funny thing is i have yet to buy left for dead 1 or Call of Duty 4

im still stuck between buying it for Xbox, or buying it for PC... hmmm
and its not anything to do with supporting there cash etc.

get Cod4 for PC...it really is a great game ^^

Yep... it's clear. MW2 was not made for PC.

It's not going to be long before they realise "holy crap... what have we done? why is this game not selling?"

You know what else though? And no one else has seemed to mention it either... the whole "No love for PC" started when they first spoke about the types of packs you could get the game in... the presteige giving you the night vision goggles... these options weren't given for PC gamers... only console gamers... so if we reflect... this game has 3 tiers of no love.

Tier 1: No special bonuses/collectors edition for PC gamers
Tier 2: No Dedicated servers
Tier 3: No console

As they say... bad things come in 3's.... so hopefully the 4th announcement will get PC gamers excited.

Too late sorry Dex, Tier 4 has been and gone.

yea, going by the asshattery they are showing the PC demographic (especially from the CEO), they would use the low PC sales to justify catering totally to consoles.

But it hardly matters now - theyve already made their decision to axe PC gaming as fast as possible painfully obvious.

Cancelled my pre-order, i think the single player would be good but i wont waste my money on something ill only get (guestimation) 8 hours play out of

its so funny it has really come full circle.

EA is now IW when it was young, and IW is EA a couple years back when everyone hated them.

i disagree, they mostly use piracy and huge console sales to justify the shunning of pc.
ive been saying it for about a year now, fairly soon there just wont be dedicated servers for any games on pc, and everything will be absolute-xbox-style, until they end up merging the 2 platforms for mp play so neither has an advantage but you can still select which to buy based on your own preference.

Carmack @ id has gone on record saying they probably wont have dedicated servers for rage either, but it isnt a huge loss yet as its more an fps/rpg style game, much like borderlands... i think..
