That simply suggests, if it's even true, that they're targeting those running a business out of doing it, not people giving the odd gift to a friend in another country.

Unless they permanently disable gifting to other regions, then this isn't going to have any real impact at all.

Rumors at this point. The day that actually happens though is the day I stop trying to cling on to any semblance of being the "nice" guy by bending over backwards trying to do everything in my power to buy games at reasonable cost, and instead I'll start to pirate anything I can't obtain via import/3rd party digital store at US prices. The screwing has gone on long enough.

It really is time for companies to look at global price parity and not just within the games industry but across retail as a whole.

I mean honestly we have a global economy it's hard to justify the extreme differences in retail prices these days, and it makes a really unfair playing field for australia retailers.

That's vastly more difficult with physical, but digital goods should have enforced price parity. I could have sworn the FTA was meant to stop us getting screwed like this. We'll see if there are any results to the investigation.
