I searched on 'world of warcraft' and simply scrolled down :D

I have to agree with this. There's definitely some badness going on with the web server.

FYI
New background with the razor adds does not scale/float with the main body of the site.

See pic.

And having said that. Im only looking at the site in firefox because as of about 12pm today chrome would not load past the top banner.

Jumping in here, but i am finding the latest forum topics (on the front page) to be a bad idea.... especially now the news posts have forum posts (which spam the new topics list). I, and i think most other people, would be more interested in seeing the active topics, like on the old site. I'm more interested on whats currently going on rather than a post made 3-24hrs ago and is still listed simply because there have been no new topics to push it off the list.

A prime example of how the current method is bad (IMO) is that great forum topics that are days, weeks if not months old will never be shown. Many people who might be interested in such a forum topic will never see it unless they visit the forums and either search for it or look at the active topics list.

If i was a new person (or even a regular) to the site and i clicked on the new topics that i kinda found interesting and there was really only 1-2 posts, perhaps 8-24hrs ago i wouldn't really feel drawn to contribute, as it appears there's not much going and and its probably already a dead topic. But if i saw a topic (that interested me) and it had many posts that were <1hr old, i would be more inclined to join in.

Also a side note, i'm at monash uni with uber fast net (via lan cable, not wifi), can download ~21mb/s (yes thats mega bytes :D), but GoN loads quite slow (in comparison to other pages). Really need to improve the site stability etc.

Thanks for the suggestion, I've refined this further and as a result made it much better :)

That's a bit odd, anytime in particular you find the site slowing down? I take it you mean the website it's self and not when downloading content from our file library.

We have been monitoring the sites performance over the past fortnight very closely. It's holding up well, minus a few scheduled patching outages that pulled the site offline for a short time :)

I was getting a giant white space between the site header and forum content, started today. Just turned off adblock and it's gone.
Just thought I'd post and let people know in case I'm not the only one having the issue.
Must be some conspiracy to get us to look at Razer ads all day and buy Razer stuff! Can't hurt me, I already have a desk of almost all Razer stuff :P /tinfoilhat

If you are still having problems give your web browser cache a clear. Will fix it right up! :)

Chrome is incredibly sticky when it comes to cache

Huh....just had a thought. What's going to happen when the Razer comp article drops off the front page? Will the article be bumped back to the top like what has happened in the past so people can still see it?

There's a banner on the front page for it.

Forum content wasn't appearing at all today.... disabled adblock and that didn't help - had to quickly stop the page loading completely for it to appear properly...
