At least it can be done! :)

I had foolishly tried to prevent the script from executing more than once because I'd failed to understand how Greasemonkey executes scripts in the presence of frames. So I was "fixing" the wrong problem, and did it in a way that stopped the script from *ever* executing again. Now fixed :)

I made one for myself, I'm using 1920x1080.

Any chance of posting that please? Stuffed around for a while this afternoon with Stylish but couldn't get it to work, guessing a Greasemonkey script has better control.

I will update it / improve it if anyone requests me to. It works for me with 1920x1080, I haven't found any problems yet, I will fix them when I find them or they're pointed out to me.

I agree. That entire section takes up space for almost no reason and if I want to see the latest news id go to the news section. Its like every other news site now where they constantly shove their articles/news in your face no matter where you go.

While the widescreen portion isn't working for me at the moment (@ work PC) the dark theme is **** awesome. Great work mate!

Thanks for that. Widescreen bit isn't working but the darker background is nice. Had to change the site reference to url-prefix("http://games.on.net") I get it now, it's to make the main page more readable, but my version of stylish didn't like the space in the url-prefix that you used.

Ditto to widescreen not working and having to remove the space. Thanks for this though, makes the site muchhhhhhh better.

Updated PirateEggs' script to the following. Was missing a couple of !important statements. Widescreen now working and the bad painting background is black.
Code: Select all
@-moz-document url("http://games.on.net/"){
body {background-image: url("http://i47.tinypic.com/f4e03l.jpg") !important;}}

@-moz-document  url-prefix("http://games.on.net/forums"){
body {background-image: url("http://i48.tinypic.com/zk1il0.jpg") !important;}
div#body_container {width: 95% !important;opacity: .95;}
#wrap {width: 90% !important; background: white; padding: 5px;}
.postbody { width: 86% !important;}
.postprofile {width: 14% !important;}}

Edit: Noticed a few more divs could use adjusting to make everything fit nicely. I might have a look later.

I can't get goosmurf's greasemonkey script working in FF, all that happens when I click the link is the source opens up in a webpage, and saving the link itself as a .js file means that Greasemonkey gives me a corrupted file message when I attempt to install it from a file. Help?

Sounds like Greasemonkey is not associated with .js files in Firefox. Can't remember how to fix off the top of my head, but suspect a Greasemonkey uninstall and reinstall will probably fix it.
