Art Attack!

Nope sorry, that's a misleading title, topic doesn't really have anything to do with that awesome show.

However, does anyone know of any sites that have cheap art work? Preferably paintings/canvases from amateur artists selling for cheap, and by cheap i mean under $50.

Just looking to add some interesting aspects to mine and my housemates rooms.

you'll only be able to get something fairly small, artists can pay upwards of $50 just for the materials to do a painting.

possibly ETSY might have some hand crafted/painted/drawn art that MIGHT be cheap.

you can get a range of prints from sites like zazzle, redbubble, cafepress and so on that can be under $50 per print.

what sort of artwork are you after?
traditional sort of painting? charcoals? some sorta modern graphic design art?

send me a private message, im an artist (cough wheeze. waits for the laughing to stop), i have TONNES of the stuff i can send you some pics/websites

or even the salvation army places have prints and artwork sometimes on the cheap.

You could search for local artists, here's one that was posted on r/brisbane: http://www.colinmerrill.com/profile.html

If you're interested in 3d stuff there is http://www.shapeways.com/ which sells 3d prints of CG models, which is pretty cool. Not the cheapest though.

Little shinny down the bottom in the photo due to the lights in my room but you get the idea :)

Im in Cairns for uni atm, when i return, i shall upload a picture of my room ;)

Ended up getting a design exploded at office works to A1, then laminated - $45 all up.
Then i went to a framing place, Doo Town, and chose the cheapest from possible, ended up at $99. so roughly $150 all up, which isn't too bad considering i got what i wanted. next time i wont get the picture laminated, to have more clarity and less glare after framing. still looks cool though. stay tuned...
