The Next 3 Games I MUST Finish Are...

If you guys & girls are anything like myself, we all have a growing list of games we have purchased, be it from sales/bargain bins/bundles etc, that are sitting there barely touched and just crying out for us to finish them (or even start them), yet we go on purchasing more and more until the backlog of games is out of control..IT"S TIME TO PUT AN END TO THESE BAD HABITS!!

...Soooooo the idea here is, list your next 3 games you are publicly committing to finish, before starting any further game campaigns.

Once you have listed your committed 3, you cannot post any further game titles in this thread, until such time as you have shown to have finished your last 3 listed. (of course this is purely based on trust, but can you really look yourself in the mirror if you fudge it, can you really??? )

*EDIT* I should add the point, this isn't to do away with the "finished games thread" or for their discussion, this is actually just to get myself (and anyone who feels the same) to commit to their games and scratch them off their list..once they are finished I recommend jumping back over to the "What game did you finish today"" thread to write about and discuss them.

So to start through my list of games that seems to be ever growing, I will commit to finishing the following three ;

1. Call of Duty : Black OPS
2. Shadowgrounds : Survivor Done
3. LIMBO

At least now I might shame myself into actually getting through my backlog! Lets see who else has a list they really should make an effort to get through.

This is a good idea. I have way too many. I'd list 3 but Diablo in a week means there's no point. I do however plan to finish Kingdoms of Amalur before then. Once I get sick of Diablo I'll come back and list a few titles.

BTW Limbo takes about 3-4 hours to finish, that's an easy one to start with.

Good, I was hoping LIMBO would be a short one, that's why I slotted it into number 3. I've got some much longer ones in my backlog of games, so thought I better not commit to 3 long games to start with.

Hopefully the idea of this thread gives some motivation to people to actually commit to finishing some of their backlog, cause I think its a pretty common problem these days with Steam sales etc

Totally. I have ~110 games on my Steam list and I've only finished around 50. Granted some of them are MP games and technically un-finishable, but still that's a bunch of **** I should get on to.

Yup I am totally discounting those style games for myself, they are pick up and play anytime ones. For me its all those singleplayer games with a set story or campaign that I need to put my head down and finish.

I've never finished a Civ 5 game, despite having played it for 60 hours. Good game, but ehhh... best thing about Civ is the mid game.

The one I really need to get round to is finishing off The Witcher 2's enhanced edition things. But no Shani, no point.

It's not hard committing to them really, they're all great!....and I promise not to start any other story-driven games until they're done......except maybe Diablo 3

Ha, no probs. I had this idea of wanting to publicly lock myself into finishing my games, as I have so many here that I should do, so I thought 3 was a fair number to commit to at a time.

But then I thought about your thread and worried maybe I was stepping on its toes, but concluded that people posting in that thread seem focus more on discussing what they have just finished and what they thought of it, rather than saying what they plan to play.

So if this serves as a way to simply list, without discussing, those games we want to get through, so we kind of commit ourselves to the idea, then post our thoughts and discussion over in your thread on completion, it could be a way that the threads kind of work towards a common goal, and co-exist

I try not to feel guilty about whether I finish games. If a game really captivates me I'll finish it. If I drop a game, I'll sometimes pick it back up later, or if I doubt I'll ever play it again I just sell it.
