Central Market Vintage Cellars is still open near Coles. Not sure they have the variety they used to - seems to be happening to most bottle shops :(

Oh they certainly do :icon14: Their whiskey range isn't as good as it was, but they constantly have craft beers I haven't seen elsewhere.

That's the only place I've seen it sadly, except for a pub I went to the other week that specialises in craft beers.

If Im going to spend money on alcohol.. nice single malt scotch.
Seeing as you CANNOT get a decent scotch in any pub/club arround here...
I find Carlton Dry acceptable as far as mainstream beers go, can get it everywhere and you dont need to worry if the pub has actually washed their glasses today or if cold water was cleaning them again.
Specialty beers are nice and all.. but if your going to a bottle shop.. why not get something better ?

I'm a big fan of scotch as well, though the other day at a resturant I asked for a scotch, no ice, and just a splash of soda water, only to be told "We have to serve it with ice and a fill the rest of the glass with soda".

Wtf?

ANOTHER centralwestern-ite? YE GADS

Current list, Coopers 62 or pale, if im out and there is nothin decent on-tap, XXXX i dont mind summer for a light or a cascade light. Boags St George is a good drop, so is their premium.

I have come to like Asahi and Sapporo more than i should, but another favorite is a dan murphy special, the burleigh brewers 28 pale ale, try it.

for heavys current favourite is the witchery's hobgoblin, soooooo delicious.

Coopers pale ale and James Squire fifty lashes are my two of choice at the moment.
