Ben There, Dan That, and Time Gentleman, Please!

Quirky fun point and clicky adventure games, with an entertaining storyline. Highly recommended, especially as the double pack is $1 on steam at the moment!

Took me over 3 years of gradual play, but I finally finished Valkyria Chronicles.
What a fantastic game, thoroughly deserving of any popularity it attained.

Spec Ops: The Line
My Twitter followers have already seen my response, but I'll echo it here.
If you have even the slightest interest in shooters, play this game. It takes gaming narrative forward in ways no other game has yet. It is incredible, and gaming needs more games like this.

Ghost Recon Future Soldier.

If you can look past the massive console port flaws then the game really is quite enjoyable.

Asura's Wrath and I watched the DLC's on youtube.

Go in expecting something highly flawed but quite entertaining (at times). Although Act 3 and 4 were noticeably duller than the pure epicness of Act 1 and 2 (wyzen and Augus were pure win). The combat needed to be deeper, it should never have been deep like GoW or DMC given its focus on the story and crazy cinematic action but it was still far too simplistic.

QTE's are amongst the best i've seen but the need to be more dynamic and more weight needs to be put behind missing a QTE. Most of the time if you miss a QTE Asura might be knocked back a little but a lot of the time nothing really happens. I feel they really missed an opportunity here where correct timing of the QTE's could have really affected the fight and made it go in whole new directions based on your performance. Maybe i'll just keep these ideas in my head and one day make a game on how I think Asura's Wrath could've been. :P

Finally they also pulled the Ubisoft DRM bullsh!t ala PoP 2008 where they kept the ending from the game and sold it later for DLC, very poor form.

Oh and sad to say but the best parts of the game were actually in the demo (the pure win Wyzen and Augus fights lol). :( I want to say flawed gem but it's not quite a gem I don't feel.

Heh, strangely that's also what I played (and almost finished) yesterday. Has been sitting in my pile of shame for months.

I loved it to bits, the presentation was just so quirky and it dead set felt like playing through an anime. Played through on easy, because I was more interested in the story than the gameplay, but it thoroughly entertained me.

Really? I thought the ending was just buried in a hidden level (get 5 S rankings in ANY level on ANY difficulty or play a total of 50 levels, ie. repeat a few of the 18 episodes).

Nah the hidden ending is actually a plot twist that leads to the DLC. The ending of the DLC is pretty crazy and amusing in a 'oh I see what they did there! :3 ' way, the thing I didn't like though was that it felt separate from the rest of the game, almost like a different story entirely.

Hidden: show
For those who've seen the ending of the DLC and don't understand it, Asura's Wrath is essentially a story about the beginning of the universe and ends with the big bang. Pretty clever I thought.

And yeah it is greatly entertaining overall. It's what all these DBZ games should be. The first true DBZ game and it isn't a DBZ game.
