Mellie's Random Game Discussion Thread

Started playing Alan Wake last night - first of the few steam titles I bought during the sale.

Really enjoying so far, great sense of immersion and the first few fights you have with those hatchet wielding blokes are legitimately scary :)

I'm also liking the structure of the game into chapters, with the 'previously on Alan Wake scenes'

Now if only the voice acting and controls were a little smoother and it would be brilliant!

I can't remember - did this game get realeased in episodes ala Sam and Max? or is the episodic structure of the game a product of the 'novel driven' narrative?
Hit me up on Steam!

Bioshockers. I liked them both heaps, but didn't much like the hacking in v2.
The linking tube puzzle hack was more fun, imo.
Finished v2 before going back to finish the final bit as BigD in v1 though.

Been lazy lately, wandering around the wasteland of FO3 (second time) and NV, but also replaying Splinter Cell Chaos Theory after finding a fix to make it work on Win7 64bit - run and gun, NOT...
Doing a bit of driving again as well after getting a G27 on sale a couple of months back.
Meanwhile, Deus Ex HR, Batman AC , Saints Row the Third, and The Witcher 2 were all bought at sales, played a bit, and
sit languishing, patiently waiting for me to move on.

Bulletstorm was really fun. Too bad the port was questionable. Blows my mind that devs don't put more effort into the PC versions because unlike console games (for the most part) a PC game can be sold forever via Digital Distribution.

I'm sad there won't be a sequel. :(

Yeah, the port is a little bit..average. It's a little bit easy though (Could be the console port). It's a shame of no PC focus since People Can Fly started out with crazy fun PC shooters.

Confused, as always. Red Dead Redemption had a triple XP weekend and I'd been playing again recently. I rarely get into multi big time unless it's a shooter, but when you click with games like Assassin's Creed and Red Dead it can be a wild ride.

Posse'd up, focused on co-op so bandit hideouts and missions and it's so much fun. Madly convi cing a friend to come back and play but he's resisting.

The confusion is, like everyone that posts in this thread is that there are so many games wanting my time. Do i get home to tonight and keep rising towards the 50g for hitting level 50 in RDR? Do i keep working towards my goal of finishing a solo campaign in DCS A10-C? What about Madden 12 and its easy 1000G, NBa 2K12 and try to solve my seemingly corrupt 'My Player' game (with almost 80 hours of play) or address my resurgence of interest in Shadows of the Damned? And what about FO New vegas where I started that caravan DlC so mnay months ago?

I think RDR and A1"-C tonight but we'll see how I feel.

hey i got same problem!
if i try and jump straight into my player - game just black screens and exits to desktop.

i have to go - LOAD, then choose my player - and then it gets in fine.
no matter how many games i play and re-save in new slots etc, i still need to do this now.

if you havent tried that way - see if it works.
