What ending did you have? Not sure what you mean by right at the end of the stairs..

Gods and Kings is pretty fun. Like all Civ expansion packs, more or less the same, just feels like the game that should be played. Without religion and spies Civ feels empty.

Iirc, you can jump straight to the wishmaster or find the extended ending by going around him.

Yeah, i bypassed the Wish Granter. Towards the end there you travel up 4-5 flights of stairs with monolith all around them. When you emerge you can go either right for the extended ending or left for the wish granter endings. There's two possible extended endings depending on your choice.

Yeah I know all the endings, usually you know about the WG if you went back to visit Guide and then back for the decoder.. Just didn't know that's what you meant by 'right at the stairs' since it's been awhile. First time I played SoC I got a WG ending without having gone back for the decoder.

Yeah. For memory after you deactivate the Scorcher you can go to pripyat > CNPP and get a WG ending, or go back to the Cordon, meet Guide I think his name is (can't remember how you get the quest to meet guide.. maybe its after the dream/memory when you deactivate scorcher in x10) guide tells you about the decoders, then you go get them / dead to cnpp. First instinct is just to head straight into Pripyat though since "everyone is rushing to the centre to try and get the best loot"

Ahh yeah i remember now. From memory i think i did that before turning off the scorcher.
One thing i didn't like about the game was random quests popping up without any explanation...

FINALLY!

Was trying to get the Drake's Sword in Dark Souls with a character that lacked the dexterity to wield a bow properly... tried nearly 100 arrows to no avail.

Restarted with a Pyromancer, just now beat the Taurus Demon and then nailed the Drake's Sword in 6 arrows! So stoked. I feel reinvigorated to continue playing.

Also very sad that I hadn't realised that once I reached the bridge I could go down a ladder to the bonfire, thus avoiding the long section I thought I had to complete each time to get to the Dragon.

Can anyone tell me how to replenish my pyromancy? I used 8 shots and now have none left and resting does nothing.

That sounds bugged, because Pyromancy is like any magic, and should be refreshed whenever you rest at a Bonfire. Try swapping your spells in and out of the attunement slot to see if that resolves the issue.

Currently doing a run-through with just fists, no armour.

Yeah that was it, just hadn't noticed. Now just need to figure out how equip load works... I only just read this morning you can dual wield, although I did figure out how to quick-swap between two weapons in my right hand which is very handy (pyro and drake sword currently equipped).

How do you go with fists? Is it strength-based damage or are there boxing gloves?

Just killed the giant moth in the forest, the stone giants near that are **** to take down.

Went into Ano Londor (or whatever it's called) to ring the next bell and got spanked by the very first two ghosts as you cross the water.

Watched an entire 1 hour + speed run last night, good for boss strategies but he had something called the BK Halberd and because everything was in Japanese I have no idea what he was doing to it to 3-hit some of the bosses he faced.

Equipment load works in percentages; at 25% or less of your max rate you can do the quickest roll, then 50%. After that, you move like ****. Equipment load also counts hotswappable items; So for example, if you have your Pyromancy out, the weight of the Drake Sword still counts to your overall weight.

There are two fist weapons, but they're not available early in the game (One of which can be upgraded with a Boss Soul); Using a mix of str and dex, and a shitton of endurance, so I can roll around like a madman and get fist backstabs. Backfists.

That sounds like you've gone to the New Londo Ruins, which is the wrong place to be. You don't need to go there until very late in the game; The second bell pathway starts back at the Dragon Bridge. Between the bridge itself and the cropping where you met Solaire PRAISE THE SUN, there is a door on the right, which you should now have the key for. That will get you down into the lower Burg, then just keep going down and down and down.

BK Halberd = Black Knight Halberd; you would've seen one or two of the Black Knights by now, they are extremely powerful foes to face early on, so don't feel the need to go after them. The Halberd isn't one of the early drops (First BK drops a BK Sword, second drops a BK Great Sword, iirc), so he was probably a New Game+ run, and you rip through the first few bosses on your second time through just by sheer stat differences.

What you really want to decide now is what kind of man you are going to be. Are you going to be wearing heavy armour? Light? Sword and shield? Two-hander? a quick sword, like a rapier? Magic based? These will determine where your all important stats go; and let you start building up a new weapon. The Drake Sword is good early game because it's powerful, but like all the Dragon Weapons, it doesn't scale with your stats, so the damage will drop off.

tl;dr i like dark souls

Am I missing something here, or have I just not had enough coffee this morning?

Steam's daily deal: LA Noire for $3.74 (75% off 14.99). DLC Bundle for $4.49 (75% off $17.99). LA Noire:Complete edition for $14.99 (75% off 59.99).

For starters - the total RRP (14.99 + 17 .99) <> 59.99 (and the sep DLC bundle looks to have the same stuff as listed in the complete edition).

Secondly the sale prices: 3.74+4.49 = 8.23. Over $6 of savings if you buy the 2 items separately :P.

Complete is USD29.99 RRP on the US store, DLC is USD11.99 RRP. The price for the standalone game probably got dropped at some point without a corresponding drop in the complete edition.

Even stranger, is that the base game is USD 15 here, and USD 20 from the US.

Gotten into Jagged Alliance Back In Action lately. First half of the game was great, second half where everyone is wearing body armour and has flash guns, not so much.
Instead of being all tactical and stuff the only viable option I seem to have is to hang back waaay away from the objectives and "pull" groups of bad guys toward me with a sniper rifle so I can focus fire them down with my whole squad from maximum range. Otherwise all my guys just die. It ruins the game.
