Yes and yes. Vegas is amazing (although I prefer 2) but WiC is, imo, the best RTS ever made. You've missed out on multiplayer though, it had better balance and more thrills than TF2.

I don't like TF2 >.<

However! I shall by these games post haste!

How could you not like TF2? It's one of the most hardcore shooters on the market (seriously).

But I just mean that WiC's MP was incredibly balanced across the classes and the resource pool system was pure genius for fast and furious gameplay. And when someone drops a nuke to turn the tide and win the game.. just amazing.

I've been shouting for a sequel on Twitter for ages now, but apparently Massgate no longer own the franchise (I think they were bought by Ubisoft).

I don't know to be honest, I've played it a bit on and off, but I just don't like it - I think the hats are stupid, and if it was deleted from my Steam games list I wouldn't re install it :P

Hats ARE stupid, just ignore them. The gameplay and balance is sublime.

Mars: when everyone had eager hope and anticipation.

Re. World in Conflict: it was amazing. Pity the multiplayer died though.

I think one reason for that was the balance was really dependent on everyone having a clue. I ended up getting annoyed at losing games just because some noob wanted to do nothing but spam heavy artillery fire when we were getting overrun and needed more infantry.

Still worth it for the single player game, which is short but good.

Haha harsh bro, harsh.

I did buy Rainbow Six Vegas 2 and World in Conflict though.. it's been years since I've played an RTS game to be honest. I think the last one I played would have been C&C Generals, circa 2005?

Also I'm really confused, I'm downloading D3 via Battlenet after entering the trial key someone gave me, yet it's downloading the SC2-Wings of Liberty installer. Is that normal?

It just finished.. it IS Starcraft 2 >.<

I maybe did something wrong, I wonder if it will work, I've never paid for SC2.

sounds like you got the wrong key, brother.

anyway. are the assassin's creed games after ac2 any good? they looked like they were just expansion packs to ac2.. but they're cheap on steam.

Depends on how much you like the story Lurk. iirc you've completed the first creed and ac2 so you know something of the backstory... Revelations in particular is... well... revelatory. Absolutely recommend.
