Internode's games.on.net staff

Hi All,

There has been some confusion of late with games.on.net staff and "who does what". I thought I would clear things up. To follow is a current list of staff and a brief explanation of what it is we actually do.

Heidi Angove
Content Acquisition Manager
I look after Internode's content. A pretty broad statement! This actually means I am responsible for all unmetered content, radio streams, impending IPTV and VOD content and associated products, our arrangements with folks like TiVo etc and the games network. I'm also the team leader for the games.on.net team. In 1983 I toppled Joanne Beagley from the number one spot on the Ms Pacman tabletop at the Thebarton Ice arena. My gaming career after this heady peak has been limited to building my own MAME emulators and the DS. Cas Bitton
Systems Administrator / Community Manager
Cas is the latest member of our team. He will be heavily involved in the forums as our senior moderator, assisting Matt in administering the games servers, arranging community meetups and possibly tournaments etc and allowing Matt to do things like .. sleep.

Thanks for the feedback guys ..we will keep you updated when we officially add "new guy" to the team.

Oh, and as an aside, in the last while I've thrown a few paycheques at a PS3, an XBOX 360 and another whitebox machine running windows (dual booting with mythbuntu - no way I'm letting go) . It was a big jump for me having a home that has only been home to BSD, linux or mac desktops and servers for the last 9 years. (I'm showing my age)

As a newbie gamer who still loves nethack and dopewars, I'll be asking your advice in other threads in the next little while

I think post/thread was a really good idea Heidi.
Puts the feeling out there that GoN isn't just run by mindless always-on robots, but is actually operated and organised by real people, with real names and real lives; something many people seem to forget.

Personally I like the new direction the website, its content and news articles have taken. (Except for the colour scheme, I old one was so much more awesome.)
Despite some of the negative flak Bennet has taken recently from unappreciative and otherwise rude forum posters, I think he's doing a great job.
