Is it illegal to drive barefoot in SA?

I don't know how people can drive with thongs

i can barley walk in the things >_>

I drove barefoot for years (rarely wore shoes period for almost a decade), can't say I ever had any issues. Wearing shoes to drive felt really weird, like I had platforms on.

Why would it be illegal to drive barefoot... it would be beneficial, you can feel the sensitivity of the throttle a lot easier... if I don't have enclosed shoes, I always drive barefoot, I jam my thongs under the seat and I'm all set. Strange 'rules' people come up with, lol.

I agree with you and most people on this thread. I prefer driving barefoot in summer than thongs or any kind of footwear for that matter. I asked the question as a few weekends ago I was pulled over and I had to rush to get my shoes on. I've heard that it was illegal to drive barefoot, hence the purpose of creating this thread
