The drift button is not a handbrake.

I'm certain if you said that to one of the devs they would have an aneurysm.

I'd recommend you turn into a corner early, hold down the drift button, then ease between accelerate and brake as needed.

Once you have this nailed the game is really going to start to feel at home to both Ridge Racer, Flatout and Burnout fans. I've been able to drift around and through any corner the game is throwing at me, recharging that boost in seconds and boosting onto the next section :icon14:

Playing with a 360 controller is solid, can't say the controls are a problem. The menus swap over and display the correct icons/guides in relation to the buttons on the gamepad.

Early days still but after hitting level 11 I'm happy to say the drift button links the entire game together :icon14:

Well I'm glad the devs have posted this. It's pretty obvious that some people are really struggling to learn the drift mechanic. ....I figured it out after the first few races/experimented.

Makena wrote:Eugh, patch the size of the game, suggests it's getting the entire game again to add whatever changes were put in. That's a bit annoying, wonder if anyone who hasn't downloaded it would need to get it once? Or have to do what's now a 3GB download. Or if it was the wrong version made available, and they've now corrected that.

Really? You had to re-download the game instead of the patch? :O. Was a quick 15mb download here, then I got back into it :).

Pictures to demonstrate:

Arg :/

I haven't noticed this issue, but makes sense as I'm using the chase camera . I can't see my self using the bumper cam any time soon, makes it a lot easier to do takedowns when you can see the cars left and right of you IMO :icon14:

As for what's pissing me off?

A complete and total lack of graphic options, seems to run fine with a solid frame rate but I can imagine a few people would appreciate the choice. The limited soundtrack is getting a bit repetitive, might turn the music off and fire up winamp :)

Yeah ended up working that out, but I think I can be forgiven about thinking that you just use it to start a drift, the game isn't very clear about this!

I Hate you :P I had to download the full thing again.

I'm a bit undecided, swapping between both now till I can decide what is easiest for me

Yeah, these are pretty annoying issues, having a full range of graphics options would be fantastic, and the sound track is pretty average, I just tune it out for the most part though so it makes do.

The game gets a lot better as you unlock grippier cars and different racing areas.

Quite enjoying it!

Verdict after a day a playing

It's fun, shallow but fun

They really need to work on the multiplayer tho, and try to push for community competition, as it stands there is no ranking between players on tracks custom or standard.

I'd love to get alerted when someone beat my score, i would run back and show them what's what.

I still to this day get random emails from audiosurf which drags me back to correct a leaderboard this game needs that catch or i see it fading away quickly.

Overall I'm loving it, but ask me next week :?
