The drift button is not a handbrake.
I'm certain if you said that to one of the devs they would have an aneurysm.
I'd recommend you turn into a corner early, hold down the drift button, then ease between accelerate and brake as needed.
Once you have this nailed the game is really going to start to feel at home to both Ridge Racer, Flatout and Burnout fans. I've been able to drift around and through any corner the game is throwing at me, recharging that boost in seconds and boosting onto the next section
Playing with a 360 controller is solid, can't say the controls are a problem. The menus swap over and display the correct icons/guides in relation to the buttons on the gamepad.
Early days still but after hitting level 11 I'm happy to say the drift button links the entire game together
Makena wrote:More info re drifting from Bugbear twitter; Press and hold during a corner, it changes how you corner, and they recommend doing that in every corner.

Well I'm glad the devs have posted this. It's pretty obvious that some people are really struggling to learn the drift mechanic. ....I figured it out after the first few races/experimented.
Makena wrote:Eugh, patch the size of the game, suggests it's getting the entire game again to add whatever changes were put in. That's a bit annoying, wonder if anyone who hasn't downloaded it would need to get it once? Or have to do what's now a 3GB download. Or if it was the wrong version made available, and they've now corrected that.
Really? You had to re-download the game instead of the patch? :O. Was a quick 15mb download here, then I got back into it

Pictures to demonstrate:Hidden: show
Arg :/
I haven't noticed this issue, but makes sense as I'm using the chase camera
As for what's pissing me off?
A complete and total lack of graphic options, seems to run fine with a solid frame rate but I can imagine a few people would appreciate the choice. The limited soundtrack is getting a bit repetitive, might turn the music off and fire up winamp
