DiRT3 System Requirments

Unread postby brat81 » 6 May 11, 6:24 pm

Codemasters have announced the minium system requirements of their upcoming DiRT 3 rally title that is due to hit the shelves on May 24.
Given that DiRT 3 is shaping up to be one of the best-looking PC racing titles right now, a fairly powerful system will be required to enjoy the title in full detail as you can see below.

Minimum System Requirements
OS: WinXP, Vista or Win7
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 2,8 GHz, Intel Pentium D 2.8 GHz
RAM: 2 GB
HDD: 15 GByte
Gfx Card: AMD Radeon HD 2000 256 MB, Geforce 8000 Series 256 MB

Recommended System Requirements
DirectX 11
OS: Vista or Win7
CPU: AMD Phenom II or Intel Core i7
RAM: 3 GB
Gfx Card: AMD Radeon HD 6000 Series

And apparently there's going to be no demo :(

Doubt it really needs a HD6xxx card to max it out.
Graphically, it's barely better than DiRT2.

Looking foward to this very much. I currently play dirt 2 in DX 11 @ 6040x1080 with everything on ultra and 4xMSAA for a rock solid 60fps. Im hoping this will be the same for dirt 3 but im having my doubts.

Oh yeah sure you will be able to run it on max settings on your 5850
(at 40fps @ 1280X1024). I think they mean to run the game at a decent resolution with an acceptable frame rate you will need a 6xxx card.

You know this because of all the screen shots and videos you have seen, or have you actually played the finished product your self?

HD video gives off a pretty good representation of how a game looks.

I also bet the game will run fine at 1920x1080 with everything maxed out on a HD5850.

Remember: It has to run on a console. DiRT3 (on PC) will be a port that has added DX11 support, most likely just for light tesselation here and there, just like DiRT2.

Hey, I can just run DiRT3 going by the minimum specs. But I'm a long way off the recommended. There will be no point in me getting this game as much as I want it because my computer won't run it (at a good enough quality worth playing, not just being attacked by pixels.) :(
