Well, so far I'm at level 9. Going to have to repeat some of the races tomorrow. Favourite car at the moment is a mostly fully specced RX-8 07, which I think will be useful for quite some time. The thing I'm annoyed with at the moment is that at the lower level races, there are so many damned races which you need an exclusive car for - and some of these are not easy to find a satisfactory version of in the used cars.

i'm usually always signed in to PSN but i rarely play my ps3 games online, but GT5 (and soon KZ3) might change that :)

Well cbf making new thread atm so here's my little rant.

Anyone else find that GT 5 kinda feels like GT 4.5 ?

All standard cars are low res upscaled models with really bad textures they have no in car view, no damage, basic upgrades

Where as premium cars (200 cars) look freaking awesome, have in car view, crappy damage model and the ability to mod the car more.

It's very slow loading at times even with the install, wheres the online racing option ?
How the hell do i turn the in race music off i wanna hear the cars not some **** phat bass line music.

Image
See what i mean about the models, textures

Hopefully updating the cars will be apart of the weekly updates

Sound effects are for **** as well (they sound better in rear chase view).

Menu's are horrid, load times are horrid, scenery is horrid.

The driving by itself is decent but without a wheel I'd so far enjoy Forza 3 more.

Pretty disappointing from what some of you guys have said... Hopefully some of the weekly patches will add more stuff, but it doesn't sound overly promising. I'll still pick it up on the weekend when I've finished my last exam, though.

The sound option menu is done from the main menu (not your Home page).

Well unless something miraculously changes within the next seven days ill be taking GT 5 back to Eb games and exchanging it for something more worthy of my $80. Just about every aspect of this game is a let down, graphics, physics, damage model teh list goes on

+ where the fsuk is cockpit view and why cant i tune the fsuk out of my Lexus.

Polyphony digital spent $59999999 on hype then sold us GT4 :pissed:

Don't get me wrong it's a good game (not awesome as it was hyped up to be) but it just makes you think what the hell have they been doing with their time.

What have they been doing in the time? Probably getting the right licenses, and working on the non-standard cars.

Same old GT with tweaked physics. I am enjoying it so far... I am generally too busy paying attention to the road and to focus on grass textures and trees and things.

I have no issues with the menus and whatnot, either. To me it's not really any different to any other GT game.
Just bought myself a '69 Corvette Stingray and added some parts to the inside and jazzed it up a little on the outside. It drives really nicely after I lowered it a bit and stiffened up the springs. :D
Game plays nicely with the G25 too... it can just be hard to catch a slide with some of the faster, lighter, more unstable cars. :P

I've been playing non-stop from about 5pm to 12:30am and I've barely scratched the game. I did the B and A licenses and around 15 single player races, and 4-5 online races with a workmate.
I think it's time to pick up a bluetooth mic for multiplayer.

For me I think GT5 is a bit of a nostalgic trip back to GT2, which is probably why I'm enjoying it so much. GT2 is my favorite console racer.

My only issue is that the AI, a lot of the time just drives around like you're not even on the track, and even then it's not that major.

I honestly don't get why everyone is sooking about the game.
Sounds like too many people have fallen to the hype-machine and had their personal expectations thrown through the roof, so they are disappointed with the final result.

Pretty much sums up how I feel. I only have two problems at this stage and they would both be easily fixed in a patch. 1) I can't seem to catch second gear at a standing take off and 2) some decent collision sounds would be nice. Other than that, It's exactly what I expected.
