Any GTR2 players here?
I just got this game again seeing as I now have a G25 (I played with keyboard/mouse steering before) and I'm looking for people to play with via VPN.

Anybody... at all?

I don't play it too often anymore, but you can always find people playing it at nogripracing.com

GTR 2 is still the classic Simbin game which still has quite a large following and a lot of add on mods at nogripracing.com

You should also find some leagues that run online races there too.

I still play it every now & then, got a load of AU tracks & a classic race race cars mod (99% downloaded from nogripracing), fun at LAN nights (though only 3 of us usually play , wish AI worked in m-p)

Same. I go to Respawn LAN in Melbourne (~400-500 people) and all they play is rubbish like GRID, Flatout, Blur, Split/Second, etc.

It's really annoying.

im getting back into GTR2 with a mate of mine. Does anyone know where we can find a download for the MrMen V8 Supercar mod? I used to race the supercars on tracks like Adelaide and Bathurst and it was a sweet mod, but seeing as this game is quite old, any download mirrors have now been taken down

I got it from nogripracing.com but that was a while ago. Best thing would probably be to post a request on NoGrip for links or someone willing to host it temporarily.

I have played most of racing games but i have not played GTR2 still yet so in my previous history i remained a champion.

Yes GTR2 is pre Race 07 and a is still a far superior game imo.

Day night cycles is enough for me to recommend GTR2 to anyone couple that with a excelent modding community, pitstops and pretty good physics engine it easily trumps Race 07.
I used to run 3hr SP races @ Spa, Monza with a 24hr day night cycle, real endurance stuff, heaps of fun.

You can still pick up a boxed copy which includes GTR2 + GT legends an awesome game in itself or a digital copy from Simbin.

I've tried the GTR 2 demo now and yeah it seems pretty good. Runs a hell of a lot smoother on my pc than R07 did and looks prettier to boot!

A pity the game doesn't seem to be available anywhere other than eBay for about $45 (used)

raceroom.net says "Game not yet available in shop"

There was some sort of announcement at steampowered forums that it would be available on Steam soon. That was back in June. A Steam version would be nice.

I got mine through ebay a long time ago. Was less than $45 (if I remember correctly) but had to come from the UK, came with GTLegends too so I can run Power & Glory mod.

I've been thrashing GTR2 almost daily over this past year. God I love that Lambo. You could take away all of the other cars and I wouldn't care
