because racehorse owners and trainers see horses as disposable. my ex-uncle was a (bad) racehorse trainer here in cairns and i grew up on his farm, so i know how he and a few other locals worked, at least.

Town crew working outfront my place today, water damage under road.. their solution, throw some tar and stone on top and run a roller over it..
Damage will be back as soon as it rains again.
And they are working on the corner of a 4 way intersection with 4 signs, one tc and no merge. tisk tisk,

I don't know anything about roadworks repairs, but I know my city does it wrong. They'll patch a pothole, and leave a huge lump of tar on top so it becomes a bump rather than a hole, and then as soon as it rains, the hole is back straight away and even worse.

Some of the roads around here look like they've had land mines laid on them there are that many bumps and potholes :/

Also.. need a decent fishing/camping spot around Orange NSW.. suggestions?

Looks like I'm moving faster then anticipated. My boyfriend's applying for a personal loan today in order for us to lock in to a house ASAP in brissy so we can pay for bond, rent, furniture and internet in one bang as opposed to slowly getting each thing over the weeks. Plus it'll be good for him to get good credit rating. He can afford to rent etc but its just easier to have that bulk money to get all the stuff we need asap.

I'M STOKED.

Yeah I've been checking ozcamping and other sites similar to that to see what I can find, but this place seems to be in a bit of a hole. I've got a few options, but my ideal ones are all 4-5 hours away and that's just a bit too far. The worst fact is that the idiots have picked the long weekend, so they'll be packed too .. thinking maybe Tiger Snake Flats might be the go near Lithgow/Oberon but not sure if the water there is a creek or a river - it's a nice little out of the way spot though.

Heh I spent 8 years out that kinda area (griffith) only fishing I did in that time was when I went on a trip to eucumbene or coffs.
Plenty of nice ranges out there for field & game or trap, Couple of good field archery ranges.. But fishing well I never found a good spot with anything worth catching or eating.

Yeah I don't know that I'd eat anything in a freshwater source, I much prefer my fish to come out of the sea, it just seems cleaner or something.

But lets face it, the best part is sitting around a fire at night with your buds and a heap of beer anyway :D

Some fresh water fish are great, ie trout (Eucembene).
Out griffith way the only fish about were carp in the irrigation cannals.
There is supposed to be redfin and trout within 1h of orange.
Try calling: Canobolas Marine Centre 166 Bathurst Road, Orange NSW 2800 Ph: (02) 6362 5073
See if they can recommend anything closer.
Burrendong Dam in Wellington looks like a good bet to me.

Buying jewellery online just seems like a bad idea, even though I do most of my shopping online these days - then again, do a trust a retailer to sell me a real diamond over an online store? Not really
