Hmmm trying to decide what board game to buy, when most of them are 3+ players, but I want something that I can get by with two players that isn't chess, or checkers, or that sort of thing. Got my eye on:

Axis & Allies
War of the Ring
Stronghold
D-Day Dice

Any thoughts, or suggestions?

I'm also kind of peeved that places like jewelry stores only allow you to lay by for 3 months, which is not a great deal of time. They do allow you to instantly purchase an item if you want to get a credit card through the store, but then you loose out on interest anyway. Assholes.

when we got my other halfs engagement ring, one shop assistant tried to suggest that if i didnt get a loan for a bigger ring, i was pretty much a **** and our relationship will somehow decay. i went off on this olde biddy for using emotional blackmail on people in order to get into debt they couldnt afford. it probably works on a lot of people, particularly younger couples, but i sure as fark wasnt going to accept that sort of nonsense. i think i ruined her day completely.
we still talk about it. totally unethical.

warhammer40k for a 2 player board game! or the one with the gangs... neocron? something..

Yeah I don't mind buying nice jewelry for my fiance, but say I purchase something at $2,000, over a 3 month laybuy it's over $150 per week and not something I can realistically afford, the only other option when I spoke to the store was to sign up for an in store credit card and be charged interest on it, which I don't really want to do.

i **** hate debt. only thing i ever owed is my mortgage. and i cant see a way around that...
im not going to be beholden to others because i want something sooner than i can afford it. that way lies madness.

I'm still paying off the debts of a stupid youth, not much to go now though and I'm reluctant to go back into it sooner than necessary.

I took out loans and was fine. Never got into money trouble, never was short of cash. Loans are fine if you can manage your money.

There's always the GE/GO card option. There's only interest if you don't pay it off before the end of the term. Most stores will offer 6-12mths deferred payments depending on the amount.

I'm not a big fan of it personally. If I can't be assed to save up for something, I don't need it.

QFT. IMO the only thing you should get a loan for is a house, and maybe, if you're desperate, a car (not some ridiculous hotted up over priced sports car). It's crazy to get a loan on items which just devalue, at least a house provides some security and investment potential. If you can't save up for it, scale back the purchase or question whether you actually need it.

The only mod I was running was adblock which I've disabled, and it made no difference
