Holy shizzle burger
Just witnessed a car crash on my way home from work.
OK so i was putting along in my van 10 -15 kmph under the speed limit (80km limit) saw in the rear view this car creeping up as they go to overtake my then i hear a POP, their tyre had blown out while they were merging to the other lane to overtake. The car was a swift so it's FWD so a drive tyre blowing out while turning can be quite hard to control in a fwd car.
I heard the tyre blow out and a quick screech of the tyres i instantly thought what the **** was that i quickly checked all mirror's slowed down to snail pace couldn't see anything, then i saw two lights sitting in the embankment on the side of the road so drove up to next u-turn lane to go back and see if they were ok.
In the time while waiting for the red light to turn green so i could chuck a u-turn they had managed somehow to get back on the road and they drove past me, tyre flapping everywhere, lights and panels hanging everywhere the car was clearly well ****.
I thought to myself "what the **** i hope they're not going to drive home like that" so i decided i'm going to catch up to them and see if they're alight. Got further up the road seen they were sitting in a turning lane so i pulled up behind them and then saw the whole extent of the damage, car was a instant write off they shouldn't be driving it at all.
I jumped out of the van and headed to thier car opened the door didn't bother knocking/tapping on the window (hey this is a emergency), the driver was freaking out asked if they were ok and what happened they seemed fine just abit shaken up pumped with adrenaline.
Wasn't leaving them until they had a ride home (they said they have someone picking them up) i didn't want them driving home in the wrecked car, gave them my name and number just in case if they need a witness.
This happened about 1 hour ago and i'm still freaked out by it so glad that know-one was hurt.
Not sure if i should report it or just let it be either way i'm freaked out and worried.
