Been getting pissed off with work lately. I do 4/7 of the close shifts each week (of which 100% is Thurs and Fri and every second Sat, ruining my weekends), piss-pay, I get everything restocked AND cleaned AND serve customers within insane time with plenty to spare, but head office keeps perving via the god damn security cameras and keeps spamming me with warning letters for utmost bullcrap. (I work in a bottle-O), just recently I got warned for using the Internet at work FOR GOOGLING A PRODUCT WE SELL TO HELP A CUSTOMER'S QUESTIONS. Then I got a warning for reading a book in store despite EVERYTHING being stocked and (I kidd you not) EVERYTHING had been cleaned by me prior.

I'm getting close to quitting with this bullcrap, only problem is I don't have another job, having difficulty finding another and need the money badly.

God damn I hate Newcastle...

EDIT: Oh, and I don't get ANY breaks. I get 5 mins to go the toilet, twice a shift max. :|

I know the feel bro, but you've still gotta pretend to be busy. Not many bottle-o/woolies/bar/etc type jobs are gonna let you sit around while you're on the clock no matter how little work there is to do.

Just keep sticking with it until you find some where else. I've been through my fair share of **** jobs and they're a necessary evil sometimes. The best part is when you politely tell them that you'll be finishing up in a fortnight and they get annoyed because "they gave you this great opportunity" and "they've been good to you" and all the rest. **** kicker jobs generally have **** kicker managers, you'll get the last laugh.

i worked at Dan Murphy for 3 years

that exact same thing happend to me all the time. i did close on saturday night and open on sunday

Saturday close, its me and 1 other guy. we tidy up the store, restock everything, get it perfect

i come in Sunday morning. and my manager tells me off for not working. and don't even get me started on how terrible managers are at dan murphys. good lord. so, because im being paid, i find things to do. i start dusting the store...then i get told off for doing pointless work.

they just have no idea. so do what i did, grab a bottle, put on a serious face. and just walk around the store. be sure to change the bottle to something different every now and then

How long are the shifts?

They vary; Mondays: 2-8, Thur 4-9, Fri 3.30-9, Sat 3-9, Sun 10-3.

Either way, they're long.
Also the wind has drastically picked up to about 100km/hr outside.

THIS! I worked in a Service Station for a while between jobs, and we had a check list of everything that had to be done on a graveyard shift 2300-0700, and I would bust my **** and get the whole lot done, including cleaning and restocking and then relax for 2 or 3 hours between customers with a book.

Oh no, "there is always something to do!", even though any of the other teenage idiots that I shared the shifts with wouldn't even finish 1/4 of the list each night.

It used to piss me off to no end, do you not realize that I work harder than them? They just drag it all out and get away with doing less you **** idiots!
