It is a bag of fun sometimes. Lead the charge into a biodome as an engineer. Dropped about 6 guys before getting killed, rezzed, back into the action again. Ending up tipping the tide of the battle with a few dudes. It's so much fun. I haven't started using any voice communication yet though :B I should probably do that shouldn't I?

Speaking of flying... i was escorting the outfits galaxy last night, and it parked, so i thought i'd park next to it. So i did.... Then i got a road kill on a vanu infiltrator... He was stealthed next to our galaxy and i accidently landed on his face

Probably, if you get into a good squad (you'll have to shop around a fair bit) that's using voip you'll go from amazing fun to downright epic rainbows pelting you with pots of awesome.

Or just join an outfit that has teamspeak or mumble. Those 'epic' moments will turn into 'just how we do it', and the epic moments will become being a part of an entire platoon drop podding from one continent to another to break an enemy seige that someone on command channel called for.

Today I learned that drop pods will one shot liberators. Yes it kills you too, but you get full points for the kill, so that's a win for the drop pod imo. Can only imagine what the crew must have thought, they'd have never seen it coming. I bet it would have looked awesome from the ground

Not 100% of the time I found out yesterday. I was flying my Lib and had been killed a few times by drop pods, then another lands on me and I take about half damage and go flipping through the air. I managed to stablise and got the kill!

I think they need to do something to disincetivise faction stacking :\. Was playing on Briggs earlier tonight and the NC (at one point) had a solid 10% server-wide population advantage over the other two factions, and were the most populated faction on all three continents. The resource/XP advantage to the other two sides is tiny, and I find resources are rarely an issue especially if you have lots of territory...

There are about 50 people on Esamir in that screenshot, 20 or less on Amerish. Unfortunately due to our low population it is quite easy to swing the population percentage around. For the past week the fight has shifted from Esamir to Indar (WOOOO no more snow!).

If you want a fight, stay on Indar, the other continents are very quiet, with barely an enemy platoon to rub together. I'd do something to aleviate the issue and drag everyone onto Amerish, but the NC outfits aren't talking and only 2 of the VS outfits have gotten back to me.

While I don't doubt that player numbers can be low on continents and so percentages can be misleading, until SOE actually let us see raw player numbers I'm going to continue thinking that one faction having the highest population on all three continents is highly undesirable.

This issue will cease to exist once more continents are released (3 planned for next year) and SOE implement continent locking (basically you can capture an enemy warpgate and boot that faction off of a continent for awhile until they retake it).

A really rough way to see continent numbers is

1) Press M
2) Set the overlay from Territory Control to Enemy Activity
3) Count the number of orange (platoon detected) and red (platoons detected).
4) Orange = 2-4 Squads, Red = 4+
5) Divide the number by 1.5 (the map is fairly unreliable and tends to forget to update enemy numbers, so an enemy platoon blazing around the map will show up as 3-4platoons).

Typically, it's not worth fighting on Amerish, and Esamir is rarely fielding more than 3 platoons (1 from each faction). Capturing an empty continent is a waste of time (since someone will just steal it at 3am) and to get that exp you could just hurl 3 grenades in a big biolab/techplant fight and get 2hours worth of capping exp in 1minute.

Still trying to organise a night to get everyone onto Amerish, but it's not helpful when only 2 out of 20 outfits respond.

Was defending the Crown last night with my outfit and we got tired of getting shot at by magriders sitting on the hill near Crossroads - so we got 17 heavies with Crow missile launchers together and fired salvoes at individual tanks until we cleared the hill. Rinse and repeat 3 or 4 times until they got the hint and then we pushed up the hill eventually capturing Crossroads and generally giving the Vanu an all round thrashing. Those salvoes looked so amazing and were impressively effective, I look forward to trying them out again in other situations.
