I miss CS...

Lately I've been finding myself thinking fondly of my CS days.

I was down with the flu for 3 days this week and and decided to jump onto one of the servers to have a shoot for the first time in a few years. It was great, but not enough! I found myself longing for proper CS, by that I mean plain vanilla CS not WC3FT and a decent map instead of the mindless drudgery of dust/dust2/aztec/inferno over and over (I swear I could play through de_dust with my eyes closed and one hand tied behind my back)

*sigh* Just like your first girlfriend who's always there buried deeply in the back of your mind never to be forgotten...I'll always remember CS and those heady days when she ruled supreme over the world of online gaming.

Sure by the end her looks had faded, but she had character and above all she was FUN...And I miss her

I haven't played cs nor cs:s for ages now, been sucked into the guitar hero/rockband vortex then got a real guitar... plus other stuff keeping me insanely busy.

I too miss CS..
Which is probably why I check this sub-forum every time I visit the GON forums.

I don't have a good enough PC (or any new consoles) to play anything else, so I still sometimes get 5 or 6 hours a week on the old 1.6. Unfortunately though, it's just not the same as it was 5~ years ago. I find if you get a few old cs-buddies on at once and fill up a server yourself you can maximize the experience

Or you can LAN at a mate's while getting completely shit-faced like i'm doing next weekend

I miss it too. I tried to play a game in aus but couldn't find a server that was normal with players, they're all gungame/some other mod
