Fix your laggy, hacker ridden server please.

I'm going to have to agree, the lack of administration is opening the door for a great deal of hackers. Not to mention the server seems to be quite laggy for most people, including longer then usual character load times.

LOL, way to go about things there Rye64. You could have asked in a more polite manner than that of a self-entitled 12yr old.

However a little research and you'd notice that a lot of the AU/NZ servers are hacker ridden at peak times due to there being 40-50 potentials to grief instead of 4-5 like it is at 7am.

Many servers are suffering that so it's kinda annoying. The lag is caused by too many people trying to get into the server as well during peak times. However that should be mitigated by the other servers, though not sure it is.

Currently only the NZ Orcon servers are lag free for me and if I can't use them I'm on a couple of select US servers that are timed right for us and are generally hacker free.

Would be nice to play on the GON servers but currently there's not enough to meet demand making it unlikely to get a good game in.

as much as i kills me - i havn't had a decent session on the GON server for ages so I've stayed away when playing serious (with friends)

even though you get pings of 250ish - US servers instant load and are almost lag free. So much better. Plus since there's almost 3000 of the little f*ckers atm the chances of getting into one that is being griefed by hackers is a little slimmer.

Theres that word again...

Wheres the administration?

How about dropping the slots of the server to 40?

Regardless. I will probably still be playing on us servers as i did when dayZ started. Generally much nicer people and less abusive australians/new zealanders

Dropping the slots won't do anything - it's actually a problem with the server it's run on. The damn thing is trying to run about 4 servers on the one machine.

Where's the administration? Doing other things, because you guys have actually driven them away. GG.

I find the US servers have more bandits than australian servers, but hey, if you want to throw out stuff, go ahead.

Ultimately, if you don't like the games.on.net servers, no-one is forcing you to play on them. You can go and rent your own server if you like.

I've noticed that tents work on US servers... but would love to keep my focus on the games.on.net ones. But you know, Alpha and all that jazz.

So you're saying it's OK for a gaming network to leave a game understaffed/not staffed at all? Wanna know how 3FL died? Understaffing and game server administrators forgetting they VOLUNTEERED to do the work. Nobody forced them to do ****. Wanna know why networks like Gamers United expanded so quickly? Because their staff give a **** and are available.

You can't volunteer to do something then whinge when you get feedback. In this example, DayZ, the community is currently expanding at a massive rate. If you're saying it's OK for iiNet/GON to ignore the pleading and feedback from their users then I don't know what to think... There's two types of server administrators. One's who just want "Admin" under their name, and the others who actually care.

I'm saying that perhaps if these guys stopped insulting them and started respecting them, perhaps they'd get a little respect back. Being an admin can't be easy - people will only talk to you if they've got a problem or if they are a problem.

As a matter of fact, I can't see a DayZ admin at the moment. Perhaps you should volunteer someone for the duty. I'm not saying it's alright for iiNet/GON to ignore the "pleading and feedback", but I haven't seen any recently. All I've seen is people going "Hey guys get more servers and fix the lag on your current ones lol kthxbai"

Obviously everyone being subtle hasn't achieved anything, so they've changed their approach. Being 'that guy' almost always results in you being heard and your problem being fixed meanwhile those who ask nicely aren't heard and nothing happens.

Brunius, in what way did Rye or anyone else 'insult' admin? By stating the fact that there is lack of admin presence on the servers? That's more of an objective fact rather then an insult..

This is typical of the GON community, people jump to defame anyone with a genuine concern or interest in anything, ever.

Not really, there are some who think that a PM or a reasonable request might actually achieve a better result than being abrupt to the point of insult.

Not my job here though, however I do try to be respectful to those who do put in the hard yards behind the scenes that most just whine about instead.

I'd like to volunteer but I don't have the time to spend monitoring the servers unfortunately. If I wasn't working that'd be another story. Sorry if my previous post was harshly worded, most of them are, but I feel strongly about the subject so those feelings get carried across in my posts.
