DayZ patcher is updating clients to 1.7.0

dayz_code_v1.7.0.rar


The patcher is now downloading this file, precluding people from playing on 1.6.1 version servers.

Doesn't the Six Launcher allow you to sync your DayZ version to whatever server you want to join?

If it has been released, I will prod the server guys on Monday (if need be). But I am pretty sure they get an email these days about any updates relating to DayZ, so it will most likely be read on Monday anyway :P

Yes it will update your game.

Not sure if it rolls back the game, if you are using it why not try it?

For some reason i can't get ArmA to run on my laptop :cry:

please dont update the servers.

The servers crash every 5mins.

80% of the time you try to connect you get stuck on "Retrying Authentication"

When you dont get stuck on retry authentication you spawn but cannot move, hear anything, or even look left/right. your frozen in place.

Terribad patch :( Pitty tho, it improved the framerate heaps.

thats prolly cos yah have to be running the latest arma beta patch as well

i was actaully told that the 1.7 patch wouldnt be rolled out fully till the next arma patch (or in some test servers with the latest beta patch that both server and client need)

so if you dont have it (the arma beta), thats prolly why it doesnt work

either way i dont think gon will update till at least monday

and you can easily roll back the dayz cos in the file mirror is an old release section

I played on ANZ3 most of the night, it didn't crash [it does get rebooted every 6 hours though] but "Retrying Authentication" is a massive problem on any server now [it seems its just like waiting for server response].

I was even getting "Retrying Authentication" on 1.6 servers though, since you can still log into them even with the 1.7 mod file.

I didn't get frozen in place .etc.

We've had lots of issues on our servers. Numbers have dropped off quite a bit as a result of latest patch. Doesn't make you happy with the Devs. Especially when they go to E3 and leave it in a buggy state for 5 days...

There's now two versions of Hive, the standalone app and now @hive mod. We're running the mod, which I think is MUCH buggier, and if you have low server fps (and who doesn't?) then I think it's lot reliable as it's trying to share the same 2 cores.

NFI what we did but finally got ANZ3 and 4 stable (I think). It was MUCH faster to join, when it's working anyway. We put up with about 2-3 days of frequent crashing to get there though. 1.7.0 would probably be the one update I regret most in upgrading early on.

This is what happens to mods in alpha which get super hyped, learned that a long time ago with the various sourcemods (glorious though they were).

And this is why I am not currently spending time on DayZ.

Must be terribly frustrating to people spending loads of money on servers...
