Can we all call a truce and unite? Why does no-one trust me? I'm an honest bandit.

So apparently Arma 2 is the fifth best selling game on Steam at the moment, all thanks to DayZ...

The awkward moment when you realise it was all a marketing ploy.. Seriously they should make DayZ like an official mod.. Make it a gametype..

Why didn't you say you were coming to the island. I hope you aren't like one of those lying survivors.

Lolz, it sure is. I see a salary raise coming Rockets way.

It's fantastic to see so many new names playing ArmA. Few are actually complaining about the controls, or that its too slow paced, or theres no teleport options. Noobs they might be, but they're putting the whiney Domination players to shame.

I already been to the island in another life. I swam there and back like a real man.

I see additional potential with this mod. Going back to core ArmA, they could probably make persistant or semi-persistant insurgency/counter-insurgency or spec ops type scenario's as well. Would be interesting.

So i finally reinstalled arma yesterday joind the gon servers for mod testing and the proceeded to download and play this.

Quite interesting (once you manage to get in)

Question: its suposed to be persistant but does that mean for one particular server? Or can i go join any server now and load in with what i had from yesterday .

Reason i ask is cos a ferget what server i was in :-)

Ok, I'm done bandit hunting in cherno now, I'm too trusting :(
Went into the southern church and saw another survivor. They didn't respond and just kind of looked at me when I entered, so I lowered my weapon to show I wasn't intending to shoot them. They walked towards me a little, then opened up with the revolver. Thought I was done for, but I had just enough energy to stumble back out the door and take the **** out with a .45 to the head as he came to finish me off

So end result is my bandit hunt was technically successful: encountered my first bandit but despite having the drop on them I let them get off the first shot. Dumb luck I survived and turned the tables, and I'm pretty handicapped at the moment with limited vision and aim due to loss of blood.

Currently hiding out in another coffee shop. Think I'll stay there overnight in the hopes I recover some blood for when I log back on (I'm realistically safe there anyway). FINALLY got myself an ALICE pack and have some decent supplies and enough firepower to make any bandit that approaches my next hidey hole think twice before approaching. Still don't have a map or torch which are the last things I need for my planned treck into the wilderness, but it's clear that without a group I'm in over my head in cherno, so I think I'll head back towards elek, chat indicates more friendlies tend to be around there.

Why would people attack each other?

Really interested to try this after watching a few youtube vids.

I think I've died about 14 times... 10 of those would be some prick shooting me while I was AFK/back was turned.

I went AFK in the wilderness for 5 minutes one time, made damn sure the area was clear before I left. I came back and I had been shot. Sure does ruin it when you lose 4 hours of work because of some tool shooting you twice with his **** starter pistol.

I've never even had the opportunity to shoot back at someone who shoots first because 1 shot = 1 kill in arma. :?

Get other people's gear. It sounds like survival of the fittest - or stealthiest. I really will have to get ArmA sometime...

Kill or be killed. The law of DayZ. Only trust players you know... and... well... trust.

This does not include players like Scott and Baskerville.

My humanity is -100,000. I cant trust anyone except noobs who have NFI who I am. People either go "OMG, it's Freeborne, MUUSST KIIIILLLL!" or they're like "OMG, it's Freeborne, MUSSSST KILLLL".
