I was rather hoping it would work itself out, but then tbh I think my interest in the game has peaked and is now waning - although I still enjoy it, just getting sick of being bandit raped or killed via bugs, so may uninstall soon and reinstall at a later date.

One of my mates was telling me earlier how he was on the hill near Cherno, watching one of the buildings there explode. Apparently an explosion every few seconds for several minutes, and then (apparently) one of the buildings collapsed.

Either he's on drugs, or we got script kiddies again.

The braveheart face is legit. When you create your profile you have to scroll down to either William W. or W. Wallace.

ANZ 1-5 down for everyone else at the moment?

I hope they aren't shut down because they've run out of money :| We need a *lot* more AU servers.

Few days ago I was in the medical military camp off Balota, was in there for about 5 minutes. Suddenly, explosions everywhere and I was dead along with a few other people.

July 23, some time after midday
I woke up in an alleyway in Chernogorsk.

Like a rabbit into a magic hat, my equipment is gone, and like the startled audience I'll probably never see it again. The cool sea breeze carries me an almost foreign sound, something I haven't heard in more than 40 years... a Bell UH-1 coming in low and fast over the ocean, I need to find cover.

There's a coffee shop at the other end of the street but I'm not even half way when a line of tracers kicks past my feet and the chopper blows by, struggling to turn around. I don't know who they have on that 240 but he misses me by only an inch or two as I dive into another alleyway and trip over the corpse of an old man clutching an Enfield Armory pattern bolt gun, it looks like he died hard but he has a smile on his face, maybe I've done enough running for one day.

The Huey has been circling over head for 3 or 4 minutes when I see my opportunity, I step into the middle of the street and the gunner smiles the kind of smile that a man only learns when he's starting to love his job, my first round grazes his cheek and for a single instant his world slows down. He's the luckiest man alive and he has me dead to rights, the historic cry of "FIVE ROUNDS, RAPID!" is meaningless in the face of nine hundred and fifty rounds a minute of belt fed-death and the necklace of ears he wears is proof, his face changes again as the pilot starts vomiting blood and the chopper rolls over...

Someone up on high mist be listening because somehow they manage to ditch the bird in a crossroads between warehouses, my back is turned so I don't see it hit but I hear the engines shut down as I finish the first abomination attracted by my fire. One of the passengers has seen enough action movies to know the basics, he lets a mag off in my direction while the gunner struggles to clear his weapon, it would have been the right thing to do a few months ago but not now, not since the dead rose. Necklace boy is just bringing his weapon back on line when he sees me step back out into the street, he knows... "FIVE ROUNDS, RAPID!".

The co-pilot is the only one who's really thinking at all, his passengers might be focused me but HE understands a rather basic fact: the whole city heard that landing. He throws his helmet off as mr free-fire goes down on the other side of the chopper, he has to be able to hear the screaming but he opens a door and drags the wounded pilot into the street, it's a little harsh but he has to know that if he can't get that bucket back in the air NOW then they're all dead anyway.

My last round takes him in the back of the head.

Nice read.

I just logged on to an empty inventory...
Might just carefully back away from this game for a couple weeks, hope some of this gets ironed out.

Epic effort Neko - truely epic.

Managed to get almost all of my playing friends onto one server last night. There ended up being seven of us, and now one more on the way, all eight working and moving together. Its terrifying how efficient we get to be.

It gets better. Last night, someone tried to attack us just after we looted a helicopter - he got me, and wounded another, before one of us shot him in the head. So the guy who killed him looted him while I started sprinting from Cherno to Palova to try and retrieve my corpse (which had a DMR, NVG, and all the basic tools and kit). He looted from him an L8A5 AWS, Ghillie Suit, NVG, Rangefinder, GPS, all basic kit. He had an AS50 sniper rifle, but unfortunately he's still getting used to the control system and so accidentally destroyed it. Luckily it had no ammunition, so not the biggest loss, and he now has a NVG and thermal vision rifle, so thats better anyway.

It was kinda crazy that he tried attacking us on his own. One more turned up after that and took two more of us down, a sniper at distance who fired one shot for the one kill, and we had no idea where he was. The rest ran for it, got clear, and logged out. But I kept running for my corpse, just hoping... and then, boom, I found it. I got all my gear back, and there was no one around. I shrugged, and took off in a different direction, near where everyone logged out, and did the same myself.

There are two parts that blow my mind in this. The first, the guy who attacked us (a bandit by the way) attacked all seven of us alone. The second is that the guy who killed him and took all his stuff is on his first life so far. He's only just started playing the game, and hasn't died - he's up to his sixth day. And he has the best level of equipment in the game, a goddamned wookie suit wearing ninja with a thermal rifle. So jelly.

enthusiasm for the mod is waining a little also - its a great game. but once u reach the point where you've got great gear, there isn't too much to do.

Spent a couple of hours repairing a bus yesterday, drove it to a couple of gas stations to fill up - then all we needed was engine parts. We were near Bolota so stopped in at the airfield, server only had 4 players on except for us, so was a relatively safe affair, until yours truly managed to clip a tiny pipe sticking up from the grass, hardly visible, and the bus exploded into burning rubble.

I, the driver, managed to get out but was instantly knocked unconscious, down to 3000 blood and bleeding. Game over. My other 2 compatriots managed to suvive, with one on 6000 blood and the other on... 30.

I'll wait for them to build back supplies again and then join them in a week or 2 maybe. :D

I've found that when I get too geared it puts me off playing the game, if you just play the same way as when you had nothing then you'll enjoy it much more and actually dying and losing everything is quite an interesting experience. I've never felt as free or enjoyed the game more than when I'm barging into the major cities for basic supplies after 28 days of getting my STA on.

I think I looted 5 crashed choppers from the air this morning, just land with the right side of the chopper to the crash and jump in the 240 to mow down the zombie spawns, grabbed 2x m107, NVG's, 1x as50, 1x DMR, 2x FAL (1 of each type) and an m249. Kept the 249 and the DMR and then rolled that chopper (containing the rest) into deep forest where it can't be recovered.

I'm up to Day 10 with 7 murders and 140 zombie kills. I've only got an M4A3 CCO, but my main mission now is to continue that streak while upgrading my weapons back to an M107 and some sort of silenced gun. It's easy enough to make the game fun. Just set a goal.

This vehicle is currently not in the game unless it is running an older version, any seen in newer versions are not legitimate, and should not be taken lightly

Please explain yourself Neko.
