The dayz servers have become an absolute pain the arse to update (more so than before).

six upater keeps updating people to the very latest, untested beta version which are no longer backwards compatible.

Frankly I'm getting pretty sick of doing it.

Given the latest run of beta updates we have been hesitant to update beta versions unless it's absolutely essential. Seeing as every version is not-backwards compatible and thus "essential" I foresee a lot more issues down the line.

My enthusiasm for the game in general has waned after my last run of incredibly bad luck, up to and including fresh characters for every server I joined lsat night, and none of the previously mentioned tips were able to recover any of them. Was able to get into cherno a dozen times, and kept spawning back at Kamenka, or somewhere else just as ****

And just so everybody else knows,

you are one of the reasons I don't play on GON servers anymore.
See how that works.

And thats probably why you pay a large amount of money for your power, versus a free service offered by an internet provider which you can still access even if you are not with said provider.....

It is probably also around the whole people can die without power, have yet to hear a story of someone dying from not having an updated game server....

And in regards to the whole server update, maybe you could have done what I did last night, Play on servers which haven't been upgraded (there are ways to roll out a patch). Or even crazier..... play on a non-AU server....... Oh but thats right, how are you meant to shoot those pesky survivors with a ping of 200......

Rofl. There are people living at home that require oxygen that is delivered from a device that requires power. Do you know what starts happening when the power is out for extended periods?

There's ONE updated server, and it's in the US.

Edit: ANZ 1 updated and up. And full. And being destroyed by connection attempts. Get those other ones up...

Dude, he's just wanting to play the game, something that's hard when the server isn't updated. It's more enthusiasm that turns to frustration when quite often the GON server updates lag days behind the rest of the servers. Not to be rude, but as an admin this should be water of a ducks back.

Oxygen Bottles? Pretty sure they don't need to be plugged in, that would be quite inconvenient.

People get angry that they can't watch TV and use electrical devices; Smart people use their generators.

Hmm so if people don't die due to power going out I guess there is no real need for Hospitals to have Monsterous diesel generators as backup power, with the highest priority for diesel supplies in emergencies... But yeah.... sure thing... people never die from a lack of power... good one mate ;).

Also... we are talking about only a few servers not being up to date, not the game being completely unavailable. So the whole initial reasoning from nom is also even more ridiculous as if the power is down, its not like you can just go use some power coming from a different mob down the road....

Nobody is saying not being able to play DayZ is as important as someone's health. The analogy was that it's a job that needs to be done. People really need to learn to stay within context, instead of dramatising everything. Take a chill pill people...

About to jump back in now and see if we can escape Zelenogorsk.

Some version updates of the Arma 2 beta cause previous versions to be inaccessible.

Drop that attitude. You have a job, do it.
Either that or tell whoever put you in charge that I'm available.

You realise Ball0 doesn't update the servers himself? He has no access to the servers whatsoever.

So...don't use those version updates? Just because sixlauncher updates it doesn't mean you have to use it - follow a guide on the internet, there's certainly enough around.

Not wanting to get involved in the **** fight, but Oxygen bottles are expensive, many people use Oxygen Concentrators instead, which run off mains power and also battery.
