*UDPATED - added 4th race with Formula BMW, and the Hotlap Challenge changes from using the XFG to now using the XRG - I think this will make for a better mix on the day.
**UPDATED - Teams so far now listed
***UPDATED RACETIME : SATURDAY 28th APRIL - 7pm (EST)
After speaking to Tera, who has taken on the job of organizing the Gonlympics, I've been given the go ahead to outline the format for the Live For Speed events.
Rather than making the LFS event a single race, it will run as a multi-race "Mini Series" taking place on a singular date/time, with a separate week long "Hotlap Challenge" - Both events will be Team Based, and results will be based on a totaled points system.
It should be noted, all events will use DEMO CONTENT ONLY, to allow the event to be open to any forum members.
THE MINI SERIES:
The Mini Series will see drivers assigned to two teams [RED] and [BLUE] and will be run over 4 various races, with each race being of 5 laps in distance. At the end of a race, points will be allocated for positions, with the points system being as follows;
Top 6 places score points (for driver and team);
1st - 6 pts
2nd - 5 pts
3rd - 4 pts
4th - 3 pts
5th - 2 pts
6th - 1 pts
The race events for the "Mini Series" will have no qualifying, with random grid assignments (by game) to keep the playing field slightly more even for all experience levels.
The races will be;
Race 1 - XFG (XF GTI) at Blackwood GP (BL1) - 5 laps
Race 2 - XFG (XF GTI) at Blackwood Rallycross (BL2) - 5 laps
Race 3 - XRG (XR GT) at Blackwood GP (BL1) - 5 laps
Race 4 - FBM (Formula BMW) at Blackwood GP (BL1) - 5 Laps
At the end of all 4 races, points will be tallied to declare the Team, and Driver, Mini Series champions.
The Mini Series event is expected to take around 1 hour in total, with date and time yet to be confirm - Teams will be random, and confirmed within the next days.
THE HOTLAP CHALLENGE:
The Hotlap Challenge will take place offline, during the week building up to the Mini Series event, and will be a single car/track challenge. The Hotlap Challenge winner will be the fastest time set by an XRG (XR GT) around the Blackwood GP circuit. It will use the points and teams assigned to the Mini Series to determine the team outcome of the Hotlap Challenge.
Example of the Hotlap Challenge results. (Top 6 times score points)
1st - 1.35.10 Driver A [RED] scores 6pts
2nd - 1.35.65 Driver B [RED] scores 5pts
3rd - 1.35.87 Driver A [BLUE] scores 4pts
4th - 1.36.01 Driver C [RED] scores 3pts
5th - 1.36.35 Driver C [BLUE] scores 2pts
6th - 1.36.40 Driver B [BLUE] scores 1point
In the example, Team RED would have scored 14pts compared to Team BLUE with 7pts. In this way totaled points give overall Hotlap Challange Team results.
How to compete in the Hotlap Challenge;
To compete in the Hotlap Challenge you must set a "valid" laptime with the XRG around Blackwood GP using the HOTLAP mode in the main menu of Live For Speed (the top right of your HUD in LFS will show the valid or invalid status for your laps). This is because the hotlapping mode of LFS has an inbuilt validation system, that checks for hacks and things such as corner cutting.
This replay then must be saved and kept for verification of your lap time at the end of the event. You may post improved laptimes to this thread as you achieve them, but you must keep your best replay ready to submit at the close of the hotlap challenge. The close of the hotlap challenge will coincide with the start of the Mini Series event.
OVERALL TEAM CHAMPIONS
The overall team champions, for the entire Live For Speed Tournament, will be decided by totaling the entire points won in the Mini Series and Hotlap Challenge.

- Teams yet to be confirmed.
- Drivers will be asked to change their ingame name to include [RED] or [BLUE] at the start on their name, depending on your team assignment.
- I will try and organize some practice sessions between now and the event.
Also its really not too late to add a few more drivers to this event if there are people interested. I am also happy to try and help any newcomers to LFS if the need any advice on setting it all up, or driving the cars.
Most of all, have fun, and thanks to Tera for his efforts with the Gonlympics - UPDATES posted soon.
Feel free to post any questions.
