GON Olympics - League of Legends Tournament

GON Olympics - League of Legends Tournament

Unread postby exe3 » 15 Apr 12, 7:12 pm

Greetings Summoners!

Due to the very big task of organizing the matches for the eagerly anticipated GON Olympics, Tera has asked me to organize the League of Legends portion of this great event. :) Below I will detail how the matches will be organized and I welcome any feedback!

There will be two main matches. A best of 3 games on Summoner's Rift, and then a best of 3 games on the Crystal Scar. If there is a tie (one team wins Summoner's Rift and the other team wins the Crystal Scar) then a final match on Summoner's Rift will act as a tie breaker and decide the ultimate victor! Simple right? :)

Could the following summoners please contact me whether by this thread or by PM with your Summoner's name and account level so that I may better organize the teams for a fair level of play.

Slazza
OmegaZX13
Anon. E. Moose
samatazz
Itachi1599
Da Chucky
Rodimus86
Helelix
Gamer87

Along with myself this makes up 10 players so good for 2 even teams. Dates and times are to be determined and if you're unable to play for whatever reason please let me know. Good luck summoners and I can't wait to meet you on the fields of justice!

LogicalHero
Level 30. 700-ish wins.
We should meet up for a few random matches before teams are organised.

Is 6 matches really required when there's only two teams? It just seems like a lot of matches.

Yeah my main thought was that some may not feel satisfied with just 3 games but if everyone is happy with a single best of 3 match then we'll just do that. It would certainly make things simpler that way and allow us to easily wrap up the tournament in a single night.

I like how it's been set up so far with Summoners Rift and Crystal Scar, maybe see what other people think regarding the number of matches?
I'll suggest two of each instead of three of each, with a third Crystal Scar acting as a tie breaker.

Don't worry it won't be this sunday as a number of us (including myself) will be playing in the TF2 tournament. :)

Hey guys, I didn't think of this at the time but would you guys prefer to play draft mode or blind pick? Draft mode would be the choice to keep the matches more tournament like but i've noticed that most of us play and would be more comfortable with blind pick.
