HOW
THE DEMO MINI SERIES:
The Mini Series will see drivers assigned to two teams [RED] and [BLUE] and will be run over 4 various races, with each race being of 5 laps in distance. At the end of a race, points will be allocated for positions, with the points system being as follows;

Top 6 places score points (for driver and team);
1st - 6 pts
2nd - 5 pts
3rd - 4 pts
4th - 3 pts
5th - 2 pts
6th - 1 pts

The race events for the "Mini Series" will have no qualifying, with random grid assignments (by game) to keep the playing field slightly more even for all experience levels.

The races will be;

Race 1 - XFG (XF GTI) at Blackwood GP (BL1) - 5 laps

Race 2 - XFG (XF GTI) at Blackwood Rallycross (BL2) - 5 laps

Race 3 - XRG (XR GT) at Blackwood GP (BL1) - 5 laps

Race 4 - FBM (Formula BMW) at Blackwood GP (BL1) - 5 Laps

At the end of all 4 races, points will be tallied to declare the Team, and Driver, Mini Series champions.

THE S2 RACE/S
The S2 race (or races) will be run directly after the demo mini series and will obviously be for people who own the full version of Live For Speed. The car/track format for these races is yet to be decided, depending upon feedback in this thread before the event. Points will be allocated in the same way as the demo mini series, and driver team assignments will stay as per the demo series, with the S2 race points added to the demo series results.

its worth it mate, even if it is just looked at as a down payment for when S3 finally gets here (as slow as it is, it is being worked on)

Would be great to run the same demo races as last year with theses extra S2 events too, so jump into it and see what you might like to race for an S2 race

S2 is worth it for the AutoCross editor alone!

I vote that the XRG race, number 3, we go blackwood reverse? I really think its actually a better (and harder track) track going the other way.

Someone else mentioned GTR class, which is FXR XRR and the FZR. These are all intentionally balanced as best as possible by LFS and can be selected by setting the server car class to "GTR". So maybe we could set GTR and let everyone pick the car of their choice in the class, and run on one of those tracks?

LOLWUT, I wonder how many blackwood drift demo servers had to be shut down when that happened

Back when that happened I was one of the main admin for the AirAttack LFS servers, and our most popular demo config was Blackwood Rallycross REV..killed it instantly sadly. That happened when they took the XRT out of demo and replaced it with the FBM.

First post updated/changed, now with a date and time. All is subject to change.

Still open to feedback on the S2 race (or races), and open to feedback on the date/time. Anything else, ideas or questions, just fire away.

EDIT: regarding the date and time, I have set the race before the 11th, as the 11th of March is the last day on the 1 month server rental, and it would be convenient for my wallet to run the race before this day so as I dont need to rent it for an extra month. Anytime between the 3rd of March (gonlympics registration closing date) and the 10th of March would be great. Open to feedback on exactly what day/time.

Thats exactly the kind of feedback I am chasing for the S2 side. The heat race randomness is completely intentional for the demo races, but we don't need follow that for the S2 race(s). We have time to give it a week of good feedback and ideas for the S2 side, so lets hammer out a general consensus. I am more than happy to see a short qual session etc in the S2 part and have the race as a longer distance than the demo races. The F1 might be a bit brutal from some of the guys new to S2, but again we can hammer out a consensus here and see what is generally acceptable. Keep the thoughts coming
