Let's Get Serious - Australian Servers/Guilds

Unread postby Wyld » 24 Feb 12, 6:25 pm

It's a little hard to really nail things down right now, but we need to start somewhere.

So, who's moving to an Australian Server?

They're meant to be going live in less than a week, and whilst we can't say "Server X" or "Server Y", we should get as much of us organised as possible.

Are you interested in forming a GoN Guild?

Is there a *real* reason to hit a PvP server and do you want to go there?

Are you aiming for more of a PvE experience, with PvP sessions with guildies?

Let's start talking and, who knows, forming a few concepts for guilds ..

Not. Long. Now.

Well... I've got a guild on Jekk Jekk Tarr which I'm going to be migrating to a new server when they come out.

Not very big at the moment - about 12 of us, but we're doing all right. Still working our way to 50 - I'll be there in a couple of days myself, at which point I'll start churning out purple lvl 49/50 cybernetic mods for everyone in the guild. Anyone want in on that? :P

Still, if you want to make that the guild to join... go right ahead, I'm all good with that.

It would probably be a good thing, if you include which side your guide is on, and which server type you would prefer to go to ;)

I've a L50 Imperial Operative (full Cybertech also Nem heh), and will be probably bringing a (currently) L26 Sith Sorcerer over .. although, I may end up rerolling that one and pushing hard and fast to get a new (and decent) legacy name.

Yeah, I picked a **** one. With luck, bringing a toon across will mean the usual renaming rules .. I've tried to get details about renaming rules from EA, BioWare, a few key individuals, but no luck on specifics yet.

I'm semi convinced that there'll have to be a pop-up when you log in for th first time that lets you set your Legacy name again, that would just be dramatically easier than them making a "this legacy is taken" pop-up check.

Well, we're Republic for a start, you Sith monster. Not sure which server I'll be moving to, I've got to have a look at them. When I've done that, I'll update. I've also got to check where my guildies would like to move to.

Give me a day or two, and I'll have an answer for you.

I have to say, I'd rather a RP server.

You just tend to get less of an idiot factor there.

RPers *care* about their game, even if you're not an RPer.

I will be moving on over, low level sith warrior atm. I would also love GON guild.

It's been a while since I have played an mmo like this, but I have joined a PVP server, which I have yet to experience any PVP'ing. (Still stuck on kaas city)
I have always been a PVP kind of guy.

Be nice to be part of a serious or semi-serious guild, but in the end I'm not too fussed (In regards to guild and/or server).

I have a regular group of about 4 or so that play with me, we would all be pretty interested in joining a gon guild im sure. For the most part, we are primarily republic :D

I would definitely be interested in a GoN Guild. Though I play Republic (you Empire scum :P ). My preference for server would be pvp or rppvp. Got a 50 Jedi Guardian(tank+full artifice) that I like to do my pve(flashpoints ect) stuff on but with the new dual spec + AUSSIE SERVERS!, I'll be hitting up pvp. Also got a 32 gunslinger that I'm leveling slowly.

It's possible to have characters on both sides on a PvP server yes? Pretty sure it is, though haven't tested that out ..

Potentially, we can bring all our Empire and Republic characters to one server, and Guild it up on each side.

We're going to need some recommended guild names, and some folk to put their hand up for guildmaster also.

Thanking about it, I'm in two minds on a PvPRP server.

I just don't know if we'll be able to get the numbers to have a decent population to be honest. This means, harder to party up, harder to get different people in PvP matches, etc.

Do you think it's worth a shot though?

Or, should we just bite the bullet and aim at a PvP server .. which also means, a larger portion of other games, including cool folks from other forums, groups, etc.

It's possible to play character on both sides of the same PvP or RP PvP server. Though, they all share the same legacy name.

I'm interested in the PVP server. I figure what's the point of all this leveling if I can't kill you rebel scum! I also like the idea of working in a group to take on other groups of players.

As for guild names? I am terrible with creativity.

Errr, Guild..On.Net?
Games.on.starwars?

Yeah, I'll stop now :p

Well, the current guild name I'm in rocks ..

Blame it on the Wookie

And another great idea, which came to us just after naming our guild ..

I'm loathe to leave my guildies but the timezone difference is making it pretty quiet to play so will probably transfer my lowly lvl40 Sith over.

Currently on a RP-PvP server, not sure if they will offer the range of server types to us Aussies. not sure that we would have the population for too many options.
